  • Hello everyone, this is Ken the guy with the tumor here. I am out of the hospital this week after having surgery. I do not yet know how successful it was but my neurosurgeon sure was smiling and the E.N.T. said from his perspective they got it all. So things are starting to look up. Let's hope it stays that way!

  • Thanks for sharing Ken. I've linked the video to Pituitary Chat Friends on Multiply!

  • @kensmind How are you doing now bro hope everything is better now.

  • @4EvaThrowed After surgery in 2008 my IGF-1 levels never really came back down to normal so a few months ago I had gamma radiation to get any residual tumor that was left. Gamma is usually 100% effective in getting it only it takes anywhere from 2-5 years to fully take effect. It won't cure me and in fact, my pituitary gland is either gone or not working, but replacement hormones do wonders and I am going to bounce back.

  • @kensmind I have a 6mm pituitary microadenoma I am 20 years old I am always tired I also have a low sex drive and have brain fog.I went to john hopkins dr roberto salavatori did some blood work and said everything was normal.Im waitin on my new mri results to come back too see if it grew any.Hopefully they can remove it so I can feel normal again.

  • Wow, that's like the center of your head. I wonder how they operate to get that out.

  • They use the BIG words: Transphendoidal Endoscopic Hypophysectomy, meaning, they drill up through my nose and stick a small camera up there and cut it out with extremely slender tools. Should be great fun!
