  • One of the best songs ever

  • long live egypt

  • @vislollobrigida Yet Laibach is just the musical part of Neue Slowenische Kunst, so if this is NSK music, then it must be Laibach regardless of who was featured in the song. You can have "x feat. y", but you can never have "x feat. Laibach", because then it would be part of the NSK musical art, and hence Laibach.

And I and everything I say is NSK propaganda.

  • 1:45... Laibach: Doing Dubstep before it was cool

  • @TheLogicStick it is not Laibach it is SILENCE ... it would be fair to say it is "Silence feat. Laibach"

  • @vislollobrigida

wut? This is Laibach. The album is called Volk.

  • @TheLogicStick yep. but the music is performed/recorded by Silence feat. Laibach's singer. like any other Laibach record (almost any) where Laibach did not participate much more than image, package, younameit...

  • The darkest song of the whole album

  • Best track on the album that I've heard, except Slovania

  • Thank you crawler23 for uploading these. Made me go out and buy the album.

  • visiteur00000

Ataturk was a freemason, yes. And a jew, if that makes you even prouder. So you say that these massacres of armenians by the young turks and their curdish allies was justified. Arent you the bloodthirsty type. Hu!

  • Berlin ------> Ankara Nonstop...

  • cCc

  • Every song in the album is meant as an honest satire. We are to listen to them to get a better understanding of our stake in what it is that we all do. Seriously, every song on this album has a terrifying implication.

  • @boundsoulreaper do you believe that they are putting themselfs on high horses by judgeing the contries history?

  • @xerfes They did a version of their own song as well. They too, made objective observations of their actions with the NSK track. What you have to remember is that Laibach is a small part of a nation of artists that originated in Slovenia and became a single boundless nation known as the NSK. If anything, they're being objective and simply calling it how they experience it.

  • @boundsoulreaper

Ok, I have to ask. Why is NSK suddenly a nation? To me it sounds like a fantasy/idea (for lack of better terms) that Laibach made to categorize their ideology.

  • @Israelpwn "The nation (...) is an imagined community - and imagined as both inherently limited and sovereign" - Benedict Anderson. So every nation is an ´idea´.

  • @TheRacistsMustDie

Yeah, ok - true. Every nation exists because we believe it exists. But I mean, legally speaking, internationally speaking - NSK isn't recognized as a state of its own, with its own government, and with defined borders, or is it?

  • @Israelpwn No of course not, but they are artists - not in the sense that Lady Gaga is an artist but in the sense that Ai Weiwei is an artist, or maybe they are in the gray transitional area between those two - so you have to look at it in an arty farty way. (B.t.w. it looks like you equal the nation with the state but a nation is not the same as a state. E.g. the Kurdish nation has no state of it's own & the Austro-Hungarian state contained several nations).

  • @TheRacistsMustDie

Hmmmm. That does make sense. Thanks for clearing that up. So NSK is basically a nation without a state?

  • @Israelpwn I first wanted to say yep but they I saw on wikipedia that they do claim to have a "state", but as they don't have a territory & aren't sovereign they don't fit the definition of a state. So in the end: yes they are a nation without a state.

  • @Israelpwn It's a state in time, not a patch of Earth. You can't own land, it's foolish to think so, no?

  • @TarikM

Europes existing borders have been formed in war between muslim invaders - so for us in Europe - of course. But I would not say the same for some nomadic tribes. :)

  • Onsholo

So...were to begin. There is no doubt among western historians that the ottomans/turks slaughtered and even enslaved the native population. The ottomans used kidnapped christian boys as front soldiers against their native homeland in Greece, Serbia or Albania. The young turks were no better - they slaughtered about one million armenians. Attaturk himself was a jew. Turkey is in Europe through occupation.

  • @OrthodoxiaThanatos I'm sorry? Armenians slaughtered? Eastern Turkey was decimated by Armenians and they deserved to pay. Plus M.K.A was a freemason...

  • @benutzer29915022 man sieht ja wer ein höhlenmensch ist du ratte kommst und glaubst du kannst dadurch was bringen wenn du auf youtube was schreibst

    du niemand

  • People who enjoy waving flags don’t deserve to have one.

  • @zyglus

Funny how we attach such significance to artificial borders and coloured pieces of rectangular cloth, huh?

  • @Zekinith92 yea cos everyone wants to be apart from others in their own small group and every one of them wants to be on top of that group. why wouldn't we be on all together all the same and share knowledge and goods with eachother, i wouldn't mind. no, instead we are paying some guys to keep us all apart and worse, to hate eachother for a tiny differences in a cultures and to fight eachother. peaople just want to be controlled i guess ;(

  • Laibach... makes people talk

  • In my opinion this song describes the dark history of the Turkish nation and the scariness of their nation as an expansionist war machine.

  • diese Band ist eine der Besten die ihr jemals hören werdet in eurem kurzen Scheiß Leben........

  • @ ObsoleteDesign: You´re right.

And to the others: Think about the Assassins on their own Streets and how they kill the own people just to see the bodys!

  • Modern Turkey have turned to barbarism, please bring back the Ottomans..

  • @ObsoleteDesign hahahah best comment on youtube HAHAHAH sad but true HAHA

  • @ObsoleteDesign Um, hi. Ottomans were executing people who were against Islam, Turkey, Ottomans. They were just shit. The current republic is much better.

  • Was the best track last night at ULU in a great set.

  • Türkiye, Türkiye -Über Alles..... :-)))

  • .....anybody listening to the music, too?

i like this one a lot, "Volk" is possibly my favourite Laibach since "Kapital".

this track is simply beautiful, as are most on the album.

  • sorry makedanos i was just trying to have a little fun but my post was in bad taste. removed it. never thought id live to see the day where i apologized to a shameless racist lol

  • I'm a shameless racist for saying Turkey should pay for its crimes like Germany did for its, so be it.

  • Hating the Ottoman Empire is part of nationalist DNA in parts of Europe that were part of the Empire for centuries. The messy fact is that ethnic Greeks and Serbs and ect helped run the empire at the highest level -- and their even blood ran in the veins of many Sultans. Actual religious Christians and Jews also formed the backbone of the empire -- part of the wealthy and political classes. It was much more about families back then; "nationalism" is a new idea.

  • Of course there were ethnic Greek and Serb collaborators who benefited from the status quo, but that doesn't alter the fact that the overwhelming majority of the Empire's non-Muslim subjects suffered discrimination at best and genocidal persecution at worst at the hands of the Muslim Turks. History cannot be erased.

  • Turkey is a genocidal nation whose existence shames all humanity.

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, and Turkey slaughtered millions in the process of resisting what you call colonization and others might call the liberation of their ancestral homelands. Building a Republic on the ashes of its exterminated indigenous populations is hardly something to be proud of.

  • As for Turkey being "untouchable" and its neighbours being "jealous" (lol), it remains to be seen what the future holds... At the pinnacle of its power, no one could ever have predicted the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. ;)

  • Omg, how can you speak like that? Ottoman Empire has absolutely nothing to do with nowadays Turkey.

  • Modern Turkey is the successor state to the Ottoman Empire.

  • @MAKEDANOS no shit....

  • @ MAKEDANOS:

You little greek bitch. Shut the fuck up. Look at your own fuckin history! Germany is also a genocidal nation. But the difference is, they made a better job than the Turks. You're my next victim, motherfucker! :-)

Proud to be Turkish! Proud to be German! Proud to be human! lol

  • Not if I get you first, Mongol. ;)

  • No, you see that's just it. You can't make us "shut the fuck up" any more. Now it's *your* turn, bitch.

  • OK, first of all, get Macedonia back to Greece. Than we can talk again ;-)

Why do greeks live in the past?

  • Macedonia is already *in* Greece, silly. Since 1912, actually, when we kicked the Turks out. The former Yugoslav republic that misuses the term for itself is not Macedonia. As for living in the past, look who's talking. Is that why you *still* refuse to recognize the Armenian Genocide in 2010?

  • Talk with me like a civilized person, ok? Otherwise I will not answer your stupid comments.

Macedonia or Greece, just 2 little countries. Not really important to me and the entire world. Maybe there was an armenian genocide. I feel sorry for the people, but this is not my problem!!!

Think about greek killings and genocides!

  • Maybe? And then you have the audacity to call yourself civilized? The only Greek Genocide is that perpetrated by the Turks against the Greeks of Anatolia and Pontus in particular. It was part of the same Turkish policy of extermination of the indigenous Christian population that also targeted the Armenians and Assyrians.

  • And it is your problem, whether you like it or not. You and your countrymen are the heirs to that bloody legacy.

  • And now? What should we do? Do you have an idea?

I don't want to talk about turkish history with people who are not well informed. You and your people are all victims of bad propaganda. I don't feel any responsibility for the turkish past. Or do you say I'm sorry, because Alexander killed all the people in Asia, while he was invading it :-)

    Whats your aim?

  • Ah yes, the rest of the world are "victims of bad propaganda" and only you have it right. But of course. Our aim is for Turkey to acknowledge and pay for its crimes like Germany did. Judging from your obstinacy, we clearly have a very long way to go.

  • Do you feel sorry for the turkish people who were killed by Greek Army while they were invading Turkey? Do you feel sorry for the people who got killed in Cyprus?

If there was a genocide I have to accept it. As I wrote already, I feel sorry for all innocent people. Also greek people. I respect greek culture and their heritage to the world. But I can see, that todays greeks are far away from what they have been.

How did Germany pay for its crimes?

  • Yes, I feel sorry for them, but it wasn't a genocide, which is a very specific crime. I also feel sorry for the Greeks killed by the invading Turkish army in Cyprus in 1974, even if that wasn't a genocide in a strictly legal sense. Northern Cyprus has been ethnically cleansed of its Greek population, who are still barred from returning to their own homes. Germany has recognized its war crimes and paid compensation.

  • As for the landing of the Greek army at Smyrna in 1919 at Britain's behest, it may have been an "invasion" for you but for the Greek majority living there at the time it was the liberation of a land that had been inhabited by Greeks since ancient times.

  • I´m German, we did not pay buy by money and it wouldn´t have helped the dead, or?

But we must´nt forget our past and we shall be a "Leitbild", a shining motivation, for all people to end Racism and forge democracy and peace and a state where no one is harmed because of his race, religion or gender!

  • They are still paying to Israel and are now a coward Nation because of the Nazis you are not even allowed to question the holocaust

Better question:How did Turkey pay for its crimes? There youre not even allowed to talk about the armenien genozide

  • Why do you say things like that? What is "good" in that we call genozide?

Be proud of your culture but give the other culture their freedom too. Thats the only way to peace and wealth for all! As Muslims ruled over Jerusalem Christians, Jews annd Moslems lived there in peace. why isn´t that possible in a global way?

  • @benutzer29915022 all war is civil war humanity needs to embrace culture and diversity.

  • Am I the only one who see every song as a critic AGAINST the country?

I read many comments like "Turkey/America/Bablabla would be proud". I think this people don't get the sense of the songs.

  • i dont know about some of the songs but i see Germania as a warning, an advice and as an accepted apology

  • @Flyer2005

I can´t see any critic ,where is it?

  • @FiasKlo55

    "Freedom is my people's right,

We worship God and seek the might"

  • @Flyer2005

    i don´t think that´s a critic

  • @FiasKlo55

Hard to explain. Imagine every song here as a satire. I mean, listen to it. It even SOUNDS terrifying. All of it is a mockery of what it imitates. I dunno what the Turkish anthem sounds like or its history well, but every other Volk song I heard so far is mockery of said concept.

The Freedom/God line may be a reference to Turkey's freedom vs religious extremism issue. But I'm not sure.

  • I visited a lot of cities in Europe; ISTANBUL was the most fascinating one - really ! try ! such friendly, tolerant and open people ... love you; greetings from Slovenia !

  • @LP999999999 Dude, Turkey is not Europe.....

  • But it is Eurasia.

Three points of a triangle -Europe, Turkey, Russia.

Read Nietzche or better still Thiriart.

  • @LP999999999

    Constantinople.

  • @LP999999999

    1453?

400 year of oppression against the greeks who built the city of Istanbul - former known as Constantinople - capital of Byzantium.

Turks - Tolerant = Historical ignorance at the deepest level.

Even during the 20century the greeks were expelled from Turkey and Istanbul.

This capital does not belong to Turkey by right- only by oppression - Turkey is en Europe through occupation - its natural place is outside our Continent.

  • @OrthodoxiaThanatos oooohh there is somebady really sad

    boy r u out of job ???????

go play with childrens outside, its better than to try brainwash on youtube

  • @OrthodoxiaThanatos actually many of the ottoman revolution supporters were byzantinum othordoxs and anyone could live in the ottoman empire including non islam-arabics the only thing the non islamics couldnt do was use certain colors had to pay a small extra tax and couldnt join the army or goverment(they could vote they just couldnt try to get elected)not really a big deal conciderating that in most other contrys(specially the europeans ones)you or coverted or died

  • @OrthodoxiaThanatos

Ah so there are 'natural' places for people in this world?

  • @LP999999999

if u want you can have all our turkys from germany in slovenia (:!

  • @VanNelle1992

but we dont want to go ! :)

  • @VanNelle1992 learn from your history

  • @LP999999999 Agreed! I lived there for a year. Turks are by far the most friendly people on the planet. Just hope your not allergic to tea. :-)

  • you must be a pathetic greek or should i say gayreek :D:D:D you'll only see 'stantinople in your dreams :D:D:D

  • :D:D:D:D being dutch is really worse than being a gayreek :D:D:D at least gayreeks had the honour to be ruled by turks...

  • you are such an ignorant slut

  • you are NAZI!!!!

  • Imbecile Turgays everywhere, I see...

  • çatla kıskancliktan

  • Όταν μιλάς σου μπαίνει, κι όταν δεν μιλάς σου μπαινοβγαίνει, Μογγόλε.

  • Έχω χρόνο. Δεν είμαι από. once in a day i can swear you. just takes 10 secs. ρατσιστής φασίστας!!! ηλίθιος ναζί!!!

  • Get a life, racist.

  • Maybe if you weren't such an ignorant bitch you'd know what I was talking about.

  • the best song from Volk! Turks can be proud! But...it's not the point of the album, to be nationally proud (anywhere).

  • great song for great people ... all Turkish people which I know are the most friendly people which I ever met ...

IF YOU INVITE THEM; THEY WILL INVITE YOU

  • Completely true, I've heard only the best about Turks from my friends who visited Turkey, but it is not the subject of the song.

  • You are completley right. Here in Germany there are are a lot of people from Turkey and I really appreciate that. They are hostible neighbours, workmates and friends. Long live Turkey and hopefully we will soon unite in the EU!

  • No......................

  • Do you really think Laibach are some Ataturk cheerleaders (or anyone else's for that matter)? This song/album is not the celebration of nationalism, it's showing how similar is every nation's delusion of greatness. And yet posts about every song from Volk on youtube turn into bickering about who came where first, who killed whom 500 years ago, and who's taking who's job in the present. Sad...

  • Well, some nations deserve the "delusions of greatness" and some dont.

"nationalism" is not good nor necessary. but it will exist no matter what. possibly in different forms at different times

  • @FantasticHysteric Laibach is a spiritual melting pot. It creates mental plane for national sentiments and resentiments to be expressed. They ought to be expressed as supression leads eventually to catastrophy.

  • @FantasticHysteric

However they do celebrate freedom without any religous shackles. Ataturk is my hero. No religous relics in the government.

  • @FantasticHysteric no, Laibach aren't just attacking the "delusions of greatness" of peoples that have tried to fight for justice, equality, and freedom. They are not fighting for a liberal empire, better integrated under Capital, with the banner of Coca Cola for all.

  • @mistarcraw I wrote my comment a while ago but since i keep getting responses, I'll elaborate. To understand this album you need to know at least something about postmodernism and its place in Laibach music. They deconstructed The Beatles and The Stones songs before,so why not do a rendering of national anthems in the same way. What all anthems share is a bloody history and major pomp in celebrating it. I don't see how my opposing of (any) nationalism is automatically advocating a liberal empire

  • @FantasticHysteric you have to realize that postmodernism is a very effective tool of late Capital. look at the way corporations do not pay tribute to any nation, but instead utilize their weapons (which are quickly becoming privatized at an incredible rate). private armies will soon completely allow the federation of corporations, banks, and oligarchs to abandon the state.

  • @FantasticHysteric ie. look at the disintegration of welfare in not only the United States (social security on the chopping block, California is in a fire sale), but in Europe, where the welfare state was strong. It is now being dissolved, with apparatuses like the IMF and the World Bank doing the decimation. So, in a way, nationalism/the state is being reversed, from a tool of the oppressors to liberators. Laibach realizes this, which is why some of these anthems are actually in solidarity

  • domuz keseim ataturkun mezarina

    great song...

  • hayvanlık yapma atamız olmasaydı anan babab belli olmasdı. beyendinmi aldıgın cevaı. dediyim gibi atatürkde olmasamıydı?

  • cant say that i like turks... but this song is kick-ass!!!

the chorus behind is soooo dark

  • Funny Byenyamir.

Do u support Islam, and call arabs idiots?

Islam was founded by an arab, u know

  • do i have to like arabs because im a muslim??

  • i want to remember you that atatürk showed respekt where he found a greek flag in the war he took it from the ground and gived to a greek back he was a real man and not son of bitches like you who talk shit about him

  • ataturk was exislamized jew from Thessaloniki. just a butcher with soviet help. Assyrians, pontians, cypriots, kurds, armenians and many others remember who Kemal was...

  • hahahahahahh do you belive what you just said.

Ataturk was someone who was 100% turk , really what you say has little impact on any turk it just shows how stupid you are.

no disrespect to you, but really study your history .

    FCK YA GAYREEKKK

  • Up yours Turkish pig Kemal was a bastard and just because you were born Turkish doesnt have to mean that you should look up to him And by the way, many nations have been tortured by Turks through history not just the Hellenic people, but Rumanians, Bulgarians, Kurds and others

  • I mean horrible tortures and guess what fuckface one of the favorite tortures of the Turkish nation was raping without hesitation if the victim was a child, a woman or a man That makes many Turkish more of a filthy fag than any other creature with the ability to walk on 2 legs and choose its sexuality on this earth...

  • @arkabahce

    Yeah yeah sure.

    Go suck a goat dick.

    Or learn proper english.

In every order you feel like doing so.

  • I don't like the text, but the instrumental ist very nice. I like industrial :)

  • This song is great, but Kemal is an eternal son of a bitch Many killings, rapes, violent islamizations and other disgusting deeds took place in his time with his best wishes

  • you hellenic bastards wanted killing the turks every time so before the ottoman empire you are in luck if we would barbarians like you we would kill everybody of you
