You cannot have it both ways. You can't have a government regulate your neighbor's private life but not your own. What if laws were made to limit sodomy, oral sex, etc. or whatever. Do we need a sexual police force that forces people to be decent in the bedroom.

I don't want to live in a world where people marry animals either. However, the use of coercion by a corrupt government is not the way to go. The issue is about consent and harm.
As long as a person can give consent (a child and an animal cannot), and as long as nobody is being victimized than the law should stay out of it.
