Ever wonder why hockey players don't get into as much trouble as other athletes outside of the rink? Probably because fighting is tolerated to keep these guys from bottling up their emotions....hockey RULES!
This is basically JV-College hockey. As soon as there's a hit or a fight, everyone jumps the bench. Everyone is about hitting and fights, not playing the game
While I appreciate the skill involved in skating, moving the puck around, etc, I cant say I will ever be a hockey fanatic or even a true fan because they feel that they have to use cheapshots, insults and fighting or what passes for fighting in order to get attention. Am I wrong to assume that the majority of American fans go to hockey games to see people get hurt or to see people skate and hit a puck around for a few hours?
"skate around and hit a puck around for a few hours"?? Hockey takes an unbelievable amount of skill. That's like saying basketball is "people running around and throwing a ball around for a few hours." They're on ice. A person can skate WAY faster than a person can run...it's a very fast, violent game. Fighting is part of hockey culture...the nature of how physical it is pretty much requires the fighting.
Geeze, I know you have to wear a cage in college hockey, but if you are going to get involved and drop your gloves, you better loose the birdcage too.
what its ok to just beat your opponent up? its just a sport. Not very exciting eather. Team goes one way than the other than the other back forth skate back and forth swing your stick dosee do whatever this is the gayest sport ever.
damn dude you dont know anything about hockey, all you know about is getting your ass wooped and you dont want anyone to fight and get their ass wooped as you have, isnt that right, go play golf and some boring ass sport
instead of saying how great hockey is and all that shit how about telling me a little about the sport and sharing with me what you like about it instead of being all offended like a little bitch. I do think the fights are kinda cool but is that part of the sport or what?
in most cases it is, its all about momentum change and sticking up for your players who are like your brothers, if someone cheapshots my teammmates obviously they arent going to get away with it, they will pay, its about being a man, guess you dont know about that, right
here it goes: fights in hockey are necessary. it is a violent sport regardless, and without a fight, some people get way out of line, and can cause some serious injuries, with their sticks or otherwise. a good fight keeps the goons in line. its like a cleansing of the wicked if you will. it cotrols the violence.
