  • wow you can really tell that Judy is totally high during the making of this!,...love this video.

  • @hunter0hara They were on pills, but their director Busby Berkeley was a manic alcoholic who kept yelling at them "Eyes wider! Smile more! More energy!" He was a nut.

  • I Do love a Rooney and Garland musical!

  • wonderful......

  • Why can't my high school dances be like this?

  • so glad you were able to download this great music piece... now a days Youtube would never allow it.. due to copyright.. infringments etc .. thank goodness you snuck this thru .....

  • Considering the fact that Rooney and garland weren't trained dancers, the dance bit at the end is pretty amazing.

  • Can you IMAGINE how overwhelming it must be to have SO much talent?

Talent is just exploding from Judy...

  • This is one of my favorite musical numbers of all time. I wonder if it's true that Judy and Mickey were wound up on benzedrine so they would perform with such energy?

  • come on now girls, Who would not want their guy to show up, dressed nice and showing a bit of respect to go out with us.??

i cant stand the current "slob look"

my heaven would be in a scene like this, with real men dressed nicely

  • I am always struck by the sheer energy in this number. They worked really hard and it shows and it paid off. When I see Judy opening her eyes so wide sometimes do always think of how MIckey Rooney talks about Busby Berkely telling Judy to open her eyes but it's still fun and well done.

  • Lovely bongos.... Or drums. Do the La Conga!

  • It's astounding that the first 3 minutes of this number was done in ONE TAKE! Notice there aren't any cuts at all until the extended dance sequence starts. A truly invigorating presentation! Thanks for posting this!

  • This is definately what my school dance should be like LOL

  • Isn't this the number where Judy had her breakdown because of the coreographer driving her to do the scene over and over and over?

  • @RobinPratt No, it was during "I Got Rhythm" from the movie "Girl Crazy." :) I believe Busby Berkeley directed this film too, or at least this dance sequence, so you were close.

  • Rest in peace Judy, and happy 89th birthday you beautiful woman<3<3<3

  • My teacher showed this in our class...... im glad he did! i really like this!! : )

  • They had such great classic movies back then, and they're wasn't that many problems like the economy and other issues facing us! ='(

  • I was soooo not born in the right era! I wud do anything to be there rite now!

  • @Cherrie0o0Chibi TAKE ME WITH YOOOOOOOOU

  • @Cherrie0o0Chibi I hear ya I would give anything to be in that ERA.

  • This is the cutest thing i`ve ever seen!

  • @TheGlassbooks

I have this one, I download it from a website if you want I can send it you is completely free

  • Love it!!! This is my favorite movie!!!! ... So far :D

  • A very overage, astoundingly well-choreographed group of "high school students", eh? But that's what makes it enjoyable.

  • King of Conga in 40s was catalan pianist Enric Madriguera his orchestra was even popular as Xavier Cugat's

  • Judy Garland Makes Me Wanna Get Up And Do The La Conga

    R.I.P. Judy Garland<3

    Truly Hollywood's Greatest Talent<3
