I once had to take a tower crane out of the center of a building by pulling it up with a tripod shaped crane anchored to the rooftop. I hired a professional team to perform this job. They were doing it fine removing piece by piece, then, after 2 hours, I decided to have my breakfast, there was just one piece left to remove, so I left the place happily. I was about to eat when, suddenly... BOOM! they didn't tie the goddamn thing correctly. Damn engine fell and went through two slabs -______-
@DracosWrath In the Turkey Self Erector vid you'll find that the person videoing the crane seems to know that the crane is likely to go over. You might be able to call it intentional.
@DracosWrath I have this channel because I've begun to download vids and upload them to my blog on tower crane accidents. I'll keep adding new ones, but I have 200 plus downed tower cranes listed there. Some with vids like on Taipei 101 when they fell from 56 floors. Crazy. towercraneaccidents.blogspot.com
@sabbathslaves That may be the worst argument I've heard to support controlled demo on WTC. This building fell out of it's foot print to hit the crane and the twin towers fell withing their foot print.
