As a 1911 does not have a decocker, the only way to decock the hammer is to pull the trigger.
Gun safety dictates that, even if you know for certain your weapon is not loaded, you must point said weapon in a safe direction when decocking the hammer or striker, no matter if it's by the trigger or with a decocking mechanism.
This is done this way just in case a cartridge is chambered despite the safety check.
Okay, so he doesn't grab a set of magazines to put in a belt holder when he decocks; he only grabs one.
But, he didn't appear to be intending to fire a shot at that time, especially if he made mention of watching his muzzle direction rather than aiming, which is usually what you consider if you are going to decock.
It's an Ed Brown, not a Kimber. Now, Kimber does make a fine 1911 and they aren't cheap to boot, but an Ed Brown is a whole other class of pistol (and you certainly pay for it, too; Ed Browns are typically more expensive than most Kimbers).
The pistol shown is an Ed Brown Kobra Carry.
This pistol is not to be confused with the Kimber Super Carry models that also employ the bobtail style receiver and mainspring housing.
I must said, i love this weapon.. Even though it is 100 years old. But this is very nice.. very reliable and nice design.. But the CZ75 is too good, or Barett 92.. i must have this weapon! (M1911) but its a long way :/

Glock? Dude, I gave you respect! Seriously, the system is good, but I simply do not "feel the love" with a Glock. If you're happy with one, party on. If the company issued me one, I'd get used to it. Would I buy one? NO.
If you're looking for a front sight that's easier to pick up, I recommend the XS Sights "Big Dot" sights, I've got the smaller of the 2 types mounted on my DE1911G. I'm actually planning on doing a bobtail on it, and I really love my Ed Brown Beavertail and Wilson Shok Buff kit.

A Glock will fire, but only if someone puts his finger inside the trigger guard and pull rearward on the trigger enough to fire it. Sorry to mess with the myth. @emasterpiece15 exactly durable but that's no everything in a firearm. just like the a-k design durable but can't hit a thing and the sight's suck just like the glock but different malfunction's .
You don't use a Kalashnikov for target shooting. It was made with automatic fire in mind. The idea was to supply a lot of recruits with a basic weapon that doesn't require a whole lot of training and able to withstand a lot of abuse. For precision, they'd probably use Dragunova's or something.
The Glock isn't bad at all. It's a completely adequate handgun, if the sights bother you, maybe you should try some aftermarket parts? Or another pistol?
@0neDoomedSpaceMarine ok then why would you use it in a real war the m16a1 jammed and had major problem's but it was still more accurate than the ak-47 also had a higher kill ratio at the end of the war and half the soldier's killed by the jamming problem weren't even killed by ak-47's they were killed by shrapnel or machine gun fire so they came up with these little manual's on hot to un-jam it and the soldier's were given flak vest's,so we killed the ak-4710-5 in the death ratio test.
They used the AKM because it was cheap, easy to manufacture, durable, and simple to use.
The M16 jammed like shit, that's why they went ahead and made the M16A1, and eventually the M16A2 and so on. The worst part was actually that they told soldiers it was self cleaning, which was just a damn lie.
And as far as kill ratio, hell if I know. That whole war was pretty messed up. Atrocities from both sides.

polifas36, America has moved away from the .38, it was preferred over the 45 because of speed and accuracy, hitting a moving target with the .45 is nearly impossible. The problem with the .38 is that they have the potential to pass through a body and into another body, for that reason most officers prefer 9mm for speed and accuracy with slightly less stopping power but many more rounds.
I have a question from a Mexican to an American and would like someone to answer me calibre.45 Americans prefer the .38 super and if here in mexico is very liked by their precision and power in the 1911 colt pistols expect a respectable response.

If you're looking for a front sight that's easier to pick up, I recommend the XS Sights "Big Dot" sights, I've got the smaller of the 2 types mounted on my DE1911G. I'm actually planning on doing a bobtail on it, and I really love my Ed Brown Beavertail and Wilson Shok Buff kit.

@TheHEROESdontRUN, Actually, it NEVER happens. It can't happen to a Glock, as it can't happen to most modern pistols that have the trigger block system. A Glock will fire, but only if someone puts his finger inside the trigger guard and pull rearward on the trigger enough to fire it. Sorry to mess with the myth. Don't you hate it when facts get in the way! :-)

@TheHEROESdontRUN the only model they use of the ak 100 series is the ak 105 to supplement the aks-74u, the others are designed for export. the russians use the ak-74m as the main service rifle

You don't use a Kalashnikov for target shooting. It was made with automatic fire in mind. The idea was to supply a lot of recruits with a basic weapon that doesn't require a whole lot of training and able to withstand a lot of abuse. For precision, they'd probably use Dragunova's or something.
The Glock isn't bad at all. It's a completely adequate handgun, if the sights bother you, maybe you should try some aftermarket parts? Or another pistol?

@0neDoomedSpaceMarine ok then why would you use it in a real war the m16a1 jammed and had major problem's but it was still more accurate than the ak-47 also had a higher kill ratio at the end of the war and half the soldier's killed by the jamming problem weren't even killed by ak-47's they were killed by shrapnel or machine gun fire so they came up with these little manual's on hot to un-jam it and the soldier's were given flak vest's,so we killed the ak-4710-5 in the death ratio test.

They used the AKM because it was cheap, easy to manufacture, durable, and simple to use.
The M16 jammed like shit, that's why they went ahead and made the M16A1, and eventually the M16A2 and so on. The worst part was actually that they told soldiers it was self cleaning, which was just a damn lie.
And as far as kill ratio, hell if I know. That whole war was pretty messed up. Atrocities from both sides.

@0neDoomedSpaceMarine yes but have you ever heard of a american sniper carlos hathcock nicknamed long trang by the vietcong he killed as much as 500 of them or so I'm not sure he even killed a n.v.a general he set the tone in the war and there were at least 4 other snipers who did considerable damage we left because our nation was upset and a lot of young soldier's were dying even tho we were killing them by 1972.

polifas36, America has moved away from the .38, it was preferred over the 45 because of speed and accuracy, hitting a moving target with the .45 is nearly impossible. The problem with the .38 is that they have the potential to pass through a body and into another body, for that reason most officers prefer 9mm for speed and accuracy with slightly less stopping power but many more rounds.

What's wrong with carrying the normal 1911 ? It's not a big pistol.
