I never noticed this before... but refs were sleeping on that sequence... koivu was deserving a penalty for olding the stick or for playing with an illegal stick, ryan's goal shouldn't had count (but I'm happy it did though) and now they did the faceoff in Minnesota's zone instead of center ice LOL! that's awesome

@ravihans15 no it's not. playing with broken stick is illegal. playing with 2 sticks is illegal. playing with good stick, yours or anybody else is perfectly ok (not sure about skater using goalie stick). at least it was, who knows how they re-write the rules based on the precedent.

Its kind of bush-league that Koivu and the Wild try to get the goal disallowed. It was Koivu who started the who stick transaction off by stealing Ryan's stick after he dropped his.

I wish they would have realized the greatness of the play and just went with it.

If you know hockey (and I'm sure most of you posting on this vid do) you know that this is one of the most fascinating, funny, strangest plays you will ever see. This is absolutely amazing from the time Koivu dropped his stick until Bobby Ryan holds Koivu's own stick up into his face after scoring a goal with it.
