  • I wish Joe wouldn't have pussied out of the band at that time... This would've rocked even MORE if he was there...

  • ABSOLUTELY YES!!! TOUGHER THAN A FUCKIN' SLEDGE HAMMER!!!

  • that dont look like joey on the drums

  • @JAMoore0123 But it is Joey on drums...with a beard.

  • @JAMoore0123 doesnt haha

  • Why is it people only remember Jimmy Crespo in this era? Brad Whitford recorded his parts of THIS song then also departed the band while sessions for " Rock And A

Hard Place " were being recorded so technically Whitford's on this one track and no

other. Rick Dufay replaced him on record and tour.

  • chiip awayy, chip away like a stone ♫ its funny that years of aeros ♫

  • Steven in this vid reminds me of Allen from 2 and a half men LOL

  • love this ass kicking song

  • Steven is a good fake-singer when he does the music videos.

  • They are so badass, or should i say bad boys

  • an end to an aerosmith era that began another! let's not forget what done with mirrors brought us! bottom line!! steven tyler said it best! " let the music do the talkin" " :)

  • thats what i think of hockey

  • real kick ass aerosmith!!!!

  • Man its weird to see Joey with a beard.......

  • god thats a big mouth . O_O

  • exploding melons

  • I listened to RIAHP yesterday. It's a great album. Also listened to NITR, another album of theirs I enjoy.

  • Another great era for them, underrated and some of their best shit.

  • @augustjohnnycrashed I suppose it's underrated if you listen to nine lives some of the stuff on there is insane

  • Alright I'm 12 years old and this is my music!! While everyone at my skol is happy that that idiot little Wayne is free while I'm happy that aerosmith might be going back on tour.

  • poison totally ripped off this riff for their song looked what the cat dragged in, not hatin' just sayin'

  • i only have one question....where are u getting this videos from???? lol this is oldddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd

  • Did steven cut his hair for this music video or is it just a ponytail?

  • @Aerosmithfandude Actually, he passed out while sunbathing so he got burned and lost some hair. But there's a part on the video where I think he has a ponytail...

  • @AeroChica Wow,did not know that.Steven had a bunch of bad luck when joe wasnt around.

  • @AeroChica ohhh its this video!! i was tryin to figure it out without lookin back in "walk this way" ohhh thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • @Aerosmithfandude yeah what @aerochica said was true and also he greased it back for some scenes here as did the rest of the band for the 50's-ish vibe they were going for. :D

  • @Aerosmithfandude

to me it just looks like he's trying to look like a 50's greaser........

  • @Aerosmithfandude they pinned it back with bobby pins and took hair grease to try to streak it back. did a good job. he kinda looks like Johny Depp in cry baby cry

  • its a cool song after you listen to it a couple of times

  • u can tell its joey krammer when they get a close up on the face,

  • this is not Aerosmith i am Happy they got their act together and fixed that horrible thing that happened to Aerosmith. If they hadn't fixed Aerosmith they would have been destroyed.

  • incredible album minus joe, by the way whats the name of the guitar player who replaced him on this album, because he's fucking sweeeet! their most underated albums.

  • @flyvibe71 The guitar player who replaced Joe Perry is called Jimmy Crespo.

  • @AeroChica It's true :) , and Brad Withford was replaced by Rick Dufay

  • @flyvibe71 Rick Dufay stepped in after Whitford quit to join buddy Joe in his Project.....

  • @flyvibe71 jimmy crespo or rick dufay. before both they had richie supa

  • @flyvibe71 Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay

  • @flyvibe71 Jimmy Crespo

  • this shit beats the fuck out of joe perry and that other dude. people make better music when they are wasted.

  • @attilathefun1 no and yes haha I agree some of the most incredible hard rock was conceived under the influence ;)

  • best Aerosmith album is 1976 "Rocks"- most consistent from end to end, best embodiment of Aerosmith's signature rock//funk mix(Last Child), heavy riff dance(Back in the Saddle), fast juke(Rats in the Cellar), basically brought the phrase heavy metal to American rock bands but obviously it's so much more! This was of course on the heels of their great "Toys in the Attic" but it took Toys to get to Rocks. 1979 Night in the Ruts is also consistent and this 1980 showing without Perry is quite good.

  • Was this in the warriors?

  • steven looks so hot with the leather jacket and short hair in this video!

  • God Aerosmith as been sucking for the last 20 years......... The old stuff rocks!!! I jammed to this shit back in the 80's!

  • brad was only in the music video

  • Whos on drums i know jimmy is playing guitar and rick plays rhythm isnt joey suppose to play drums

  • @Chipkanobe Yes, Joey Kramer is on the drums. He just looks a bit different with that beard...

  • @AeroChica Thx

  • @AeroChica No it is not Joey Krammer because i met him but he never split with the band so i am confused

  • @ichiban781 Definitely: Joey never split with Aerosmith and he is the one at the drums here. It's Joey Kramer, with a beard, but Joey at last...

  • @ichiban781 Yes it is Joey Krammer.

  • @ichiban781 yeah thats joey! you can tell by his eyes and face behind the bigass beard

  • You say Taylor Swift,I say Led Zeppelin

You say Lady Gaga,I say Metallica

You say Miley Cyrus,I say Judas Priest

You say T-Pain,I say Def Leppard

    You say Eminem,I say Megadeth

You say Jonas Brother,I say Aerosmith

You say Flowers,I say go fuck yourself.

92% of teens have turned to pop and hip-hop.If you are part of the 8% that still listens to real music, copy and paste this message to 5 other videos. DONT LET THE SPIRIT OF ROCK!

    Jahva1 18 minutes ago

  • @ellendiane1 You can bet I will!

  • wtf???first time watching tyler with short hair!!! :P

  • I gotta kick in on this best album. I like them All, I still have Done with Mirrors on vinyl, and 2 or 3 of their concert VHS tapes No one mentioned their first album that I seen. It's hard to beat Mama Kin, (the first song I learned on guitar), Movin' Out, Dream On, Walkin' the Dog, One Way Street, etc.

  • @clintonearlwalker Did you notice that Steven sounds different on the 1st album compared to the rest? As one writer wrote, "Aerosmith has never made a bad record". Not many bands can claim that. "Get Your Wings" was great too. "Seasons of Whither" is a great track.

  • @MeanSOB1 "Wither" oops!

  • @MeanSOB1 I didn't notice that, maybe I'll listen for it. I have Get Your Wings, I must admit I don't listen to it very much. I have favorites like everyone else I guess. I like Draw The Line, and Pump. FINE is one of my favorites off Pump. I've tried to play many of them on guitar, I have the sheet music to about the first 5 albums in a book called Aerosmith Complete. Cheers!!

  • oh yeah he was all doped up by then joe and brad just made it worse not only for Aerosmith but steve the 70s just chewed him up and spit him out

  • my god WTF i love aerosmith but i dont lyk the song but any way steven tyler looks like a sexy beast

  • STILL

  • This song KICKS MAJOR ROCKNROLL ASS!!!!!!!!

  • This Fn song absolutely KICKS MAJOR ROCKNROLL ASS!!!!!! It stands with the best of all aerosmith tunes.Amen

  • Okay, best Aerosmith album ever. Any takers? To me, it's gotta be "Toys.......".

  • @MeanSOB1 Yeah, the best can be Toys or Rocks...Although Nine Lives is a personal favorite of mine.

  • @AeroChica As far as 90's and up, I really liked Get A Grip.

  • @MeanSOB1 to me its Rocks:rats in the cellar, nobody's fault, combination, back in the saddle, get the lead out, sick as a dog are the best

toys in the attic: sweet emotion, round and round, toys in the attic, walk this way

i just like more songs from Rocks drugs really "payed off" for those 2 albums no doubt but Draw thr Line is kinda iffie (itwas good but not great) but here i go rambling on

  • @Zero9698 They are definitely the top 2 to me. I love Sick As A Dog too! Funny you mention Draw The Line. I agree with you about it, but damn the title track was about as good as any single track they ever did.

  • @MeanSOB1

    Toys is a good shout

    but id plump for Rocks

  • Great song. The best they did without Joe and Brad.

  • Every time is see this video it makes kinda laugh what a pointless video lol

But yes it sure was the gloomy aerosmith at that time

  • some of the best fuckin' tunes Aerosmith has ever wriiten, dude!

  • Like im 13 and i love aerosmith specioly Steve : ) and all my friends like the Joe brothers and stuff like that i hate it it makes me so mad I wish i could meet them!!!!

  • It's amazing that they went from this to I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing,

  • What a great song!! I'm addicted! And Steven's sooo hot here !!!!!!! Brilliant video

  • Aerosmith is my favorite band and I think this is a good metal song, but it's just different from the other aerosmith albums. Rock in a hard place has a metal sound, not the blues rock/hard rock that aerosmith plays. I think this is because steven and crespo wrote this song so it sounds more metal so I think it's good for a metal song. Rock in a hard place is the only aerosmith album I think is not good or bad. All other 13 albums are my favorite album of all time

  • @tucker1271201 Aerosmith has got more songs like this one: "Nobosy's Fault", "Round and Round", "Voodoo Medicine MAn", "rats in the Cellar", "Crash", "Nine Lives" "Flesh", " Somethings Gotta Give", "The Farm", "eat the Rich", "Young Lust.". etc And Yeah "lightning strikes" is one of my Fav Aerosmith songs.

  • @Thorgal20 Good pointing those out. If those newer songs didn't exist I'd think they'd sold their souls to the pop-rock radio Devil completely.

  • @Thorgal20 Dude I Know those songs and they are hard rock, and doesn't have this metal style. Like I said crespo and Dufane are more of a metal than hard rock

  • @tucker1271201 What? Round and Round and Nobody's Fault has got one of the most heavy riff made by Brad Whitford, it sounds like Black Sabbath, Don't tell me that songs like "crash", "Nine Lives", "Something Gottta Give", "Light Inside" etc doesn't sound like heavy metal? Off course that Lightning Strikes also sounds like heavy metal, the same as Jailbait, or Rock in a Hard Place, but As I said before they've got much more songs like Lightning STrikes

  • @Thorgal20 Its not Heavy Metal dude...sure its Hard...but its jus pure rock n roll...Judas Priest is heavy metal...

  • @AceInTheWhole94 First of all Judas Priest is New Wave Of British heavy Metal, Second, I know Aerosmith is hard rock, but Black Sabbath had almost the same riffs and everybody genres them into heavy metal. Besides there are different way of playing heavy metal, not only as judas priest do, Why everybody calls Motorhead heavy metal when they're playing heavy rock n roll? There are couple songs of Aerosmith with heavy metal punch. Aerosmith explored this style many times.

  • @Thorgal20 Yea man...you're right i guess....black sabbath themselves called themselves a hard rock band...and motorhead really is jus a rock n roll band...but yea , sure...you're right....well..healthy conversation dude..least you didnt come at me like...hey fuck you, you ignorant shit...

    cheers mate

  • @AceInTheWhole94 Because I don't like such conversation like "fuck you" and shit like this(until somebody piss me off really bad). I prefer more diplomatic conversation:) Salute mate.

  • "When th' Lighnin' Striikkesss..... wooo-hoo"!

  • Excelente!!!

  • Love this song! Steven cracks me up =D love him so!

  • LAME! Jimmy is a joke! Joe and The guys kick ass!

  • this is invincible

    thanks for the magic guys

  • Great song to get baked too.

  • @logang95 i fried quite a few to this album when it came out... still had some left from all their earlier albums...

  • I miss those days,no doubt rock sounds better high, maybe gecause the guys who created it were baked.

  • @logang95 hell yeah

  • Drug years, baby!

  • Last great Aerosmith song before they went sober.

  • This is great. A solid, raw song that I'd say is somewhat underappreciated. Reminds me of high school, sophmore year.

  • My favorite Aerosmith song!

  • i love this f#@kin song

  • why dosn't joey play the drums??

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @aerosmithrules4ever that is Joey on the drums, he grew a beard.

  • joey is playing the drums, he just has a beard

  • @Denver1110 ohh allright he also looks a little chuppy there maybe thats why ;D

  • not the best music vid., but GREAT SONG!

  • Great song from a great underated album

  • what's wrong w/ nine lives?

  • The rehab years

  • One of my fav aero songs, even if Joe's not in it.

  • well then pal, you are not a real aerosmith fan...............ACTUALLY scratch that, you are not a real MUSIC FAN!!!! this song is the biggest pices of horse shit ever!!!!! It is like the sound of hells ASSHOLE(just like you).

  • Sounds about right because after this they changed,I liked them most here.

  • taught him

  • Ahhhh...the last great Aerosmith song. After this they cleaned up, sold out, and cashed in.

  • @deaconbluezzz i like done with mirrors, and their other albums has some great songs, like voodoo and the movie

i think they're so good live... we can live with their concerts

  • Correct. I saw this tour in December '82 and Tyler was really FUCKED UP! But I did like this album.

  • I love this song ya got lyrics?

  • i love aerosmith, but this is their worst peroid. this songs cool, crespo and dufay were cool, but if it was perry and whitford, it woulda been killer.

  • My first time seeing them live(late 82)

Don't know if the band or audience were more fuBAR! Still a great song.

  • Good song, like shakobenmyerz said, but Steven looks so gaunt and unhealthy here from drugs or whatnot. 3:22

How does one lose hair sunbathing??

  • It seems like he stayed too long under the sun and got burned

  • because, when you burn yourself so severely your hair folecules die and so it lets go of hair strands and your hair falls out. haha thats what he said in walk this way.

  • Ok, thanks for the info, guess I should read the whole book. Seems weird - I've been sunburned many times but my thin hair has never fallen out! But then we're talking about Steven Tyler...

  • no problem :D ya its really good. he was in the sun for like 6 or 7 hours tho. he like fried. lolol

  • @Grendelmonster8u I think it was more to do with the intense drug use and lack of nutrients. He went days without eating. My sister is a recovering and her hair was falling out in the days of her heaviest use.

  • Ha! @ 1:20-1:34, they're all beefing which each other. Nothing's changed. LOL!

  • lmao b4 they recorded this video steven got high while he was sunbathing and passed out for 5 hours and when he woke up he was fried and his hair was falling out. lol he said dont look too close at his hair bcuz like chunks of it was missing XD god i love that man

  • @Aerosmithtastic O_O that only can happen to steven.

Every weird things always happen to him.

    I love him

  • haha ikr!?! theres so many wacky stories of him!!! im in love with that man :D

  • Yes seen that gunsnrosesaero, that was a funny episode. There is nobody else like Mr. Tyler out there, a great talent.

  • Saw this video on Heavy Metal Video with Dee Snider, back in the 80, was 15. Still one of my Favs, Done with Mirrors!

  • Rock in a hard place

  • Steven kind of looks like Alan from Two And A Half Men there lol

  • do you know Steven was a guest appearance in Two And A Half Men? that episode was fuckin' hilarious!! ;)

  • loved that episode hahaha

  • i walked into the living room and saw the scrolling texts in the end and saw it said steven tyler as himself and then i saw something on youtube hilarious hehe d:

  • big lips

  • One of their best songs they ever recorded, but this record never got its just due in part because Joe didn't play on it, another doing whatever drugs were in front of them didn't help. (For those not in the know, if you check the credits you'll notice Brad DID play rhythm guitar on this song.)

  • >>> WOW, ... my YOUTH ! 1982 driving in my buddys 1969 red mustang around the LTHS ILL north high school crankin THIS song. We ruled the world !

God, I miss that freedom !

Poor kids today dont even know what REAL music is. Damn shame !

  • HA!!!!!!!!!! YA I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. BUT... I'M 13 and i gotta say the biggest AEROSMITH FAN EVER!!!!!!!!!!! YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT MY SITE IT'S AEROSMITHFANSITE.PICZO.(0M

  • @apatheticempathy you know i feel the same way! i am 13 years old and i love this music and everyone in my school loves all this lady gaga crap and justin bieber and it pisses me off

  • great song

  • Tyler is looking hott!!!

  • very cool. I like when he blows the smoke out of his mouth. raw. I wish they would have continued making songs like this, really hard good rock.

  • Jimmy and Dufay were ok replacements, but Joe and Brad are the best!

  • i love this video tyler is such a badass in this its frikin awesome

  • FUCK MTV long live rock and roll

  • H3LL YEAH!

  • @hollywoodsheraton Yes! fuck mtv indeed...long live real rock n roll

  • Before shooting this, Steven got drugged up and fell asleep in the Miami sun for 8 hours and got seriously burned; hair falling out in clumps. That hair is not styled- its a wig.

  • soo you read the book too

  • The only good song on Rock In A Hard Place! Big time cocaine snorters back then, but name rockstar that wasn't

  • Man,Have read the book "Walk this Way". Shit they are not known as the Toxic Twins for no reason. Coke was the least of the problem.

  • I remember the style of Kiss

  • are you out of your fucking mind?

  • Claro que não, mas é uma opinião minha, respeite - a

  • Rock In A Hard Place is a fucking mess of a record, a cocaine-dazed bleary, drunken, stupid-ass album, but it's WONDERFUL that way. Seriously. It just flat out ROCKS, which is what you want an Aerosmith album to do. Sad to say they haven't really made an album as good as this since, arguably.

  • Draw the Line was a lot like that too. It was one of their harder rocking ones.

  • the klaus nomi version is much better

  • SICK !!

  • nope...you're wrong.

  • Steven Tyler had short hair cool

  • I have no friends and choose to die alone asshole.

  • you fucker don't you have something other to do than your fucking idiotic chain letters, go fuck yourself

  • Also like those cantaloupes for breakfast. Tasty!!!

  • !!!sʞɔoɹ ɥʇıɯsoɹǝɐ

  • roflmao @ the pompadour

  • I think Steven did well to have his hair long all the time... =)

This song is nice, really 80's, but I'm glad Joe and Brad were soon back.

  • I like about every Aerosmith song WHEN THEY WERE WASTED. I hate every song since Pump, and most of Permenant Vacation. They were one of my favorite bands and just changed too much for me.
