  • hell i started out at 18 with nothing , i never asked 1 person in this world for shit, i know way 2 many people that just want 2 sit on their fat ass & collect a check. if ur 1 of the few that did try 2 better yourself then that's great but most people that see are just waiting for their next dam handout & that's just plain WRONG! ! !

  • when Bush was president during hurricane Katrina and the war he gave Iraq 300 billion dollars in 1 month. In Chicago they was showing people applying for fema grants and they showed a couple of people getting there fema checks and guess what they was all white. When there is a natural disaster the U.S government declares it a disaster within 2 days. The governor is out there the next morning and the president is out there within a week. But sine it was all black. YOU KNOW KILL EM ALL

  • @skatahman I'd like to think though that we will be able to grow from this. Katrina even in mind showed that bigotry is still alive in America. The poor were ignored. It's not just the money, as you know. They left people stranded! How long? Some weeks! It's just crazy. I hate Bush. I wish I could say he should die but I don't have it in me. People like me will do everything we can to ensure this does not happen again!

  • god bless new orleans

  • It is a catastrophe that should have NEVER happened IF the local, state, and fed politicians and bureaucrats had designed the levees CORRECTLY.

There is NO excuse for the collapse of these structures under ANY hurricane force.

To find structures that have withstood force 5'ers look no further than south florida: the hi-rise condos, hotels etc have stood for DECADES. AND these structures have had to withstand windload and water forces MANY times greater than the N.O. failed levees.

  • i am white and my hart goes out to all of the people who got screwed by the goverment but i am not lazie i work every day. 9th ward i wish i could have helped you i cryed when i saw the videos of you in the dome i have 4 kids and they are my world i hope your all doing better

  • the american govt is just not aying any attention on neworleans because its all black area

    thats why

    if that was white area

it would ve got all the grants and support because they were true americans

  • @zeb120 sorry but U just can't use that crutch anymore

there is a black man in the whitehouse

so the poor me i'm black just will not get it anymore

if Obama can make it 2 the whitehouse the other blacks in this country can do anything they set their minds to .....but that will involve getting up off of ur @ss & start to be your own man

the problem is that soooo many people are sucking on the government tit that the entire system will come down just from it's own weight at some point

  • @piglett2195 Everybody plight in life is not the same

  • @piglett2195 With people like you? You seem like you have never had want for anything. I lived in a drug house. Because he government help I was able to get out of that situation. I was able to graduate and now live with my boyfriend's family who are gracefully supporting me through college. Poor people are not poor because they are stupid. But people born into decent family could not understand that struggle. By the way I'm Irish. XP

  • @zeb120 I can't help but mention that many low to mid income people of all different races were in those areas as well. They ideology with the rich is the poor most be doing something 'bad' or 'wrong' to be poor. So if you are poor you must be a bad person.

  • At :51, the narrator pronounces the word "libraries" as "liberrys." C'mon! Show some education! African-Americans often mis-pronounce that word. Another common mispronunciation is "ax" for "ask" as in: "Let me ax you a question about the liberrys."

  • hahahahaha

  • i know what u mean im black but u can make an mistake son ;) and actually who cares ? i got nothing to do with education !

    ( sorry for my english ;) )

  • That is so horrible that these people are going through this.

  • anyone ever heard of personal responsibilty

  • Is anyone here listening to what's being said instead of how it's being said?

  • the laziest people on the planet are white.

  • lie-berries???

  • LOL! Noticed that too!

  • @turuzzo

    Animals Lol

  • BAYBER3214 just to add to some of what you were saying.. I used to sell life and fire insurance in lower income area of Baton Rouge and most of the houses in a lot of the poorer neighborhoods in New Orleans were (by the standards of the company I worked for) uninsurable. and our company was about the only company that would insure houses of such little value and condition. So it was a time game.. when the houses would be destroyed.. if it wasn't this storm it would have been the next one..

  • The area portrayed in this area are poorest in the area.Numerous houses in this area were in disrepair before the storm.A lot of the people couldn't afford insurance or repairing their homes.Plenty of jobs were available. businesses were begging for employees.BK,Taco Bell etc were paying $10 an hr +bonuses. The guy was telling the truth about thugs going into homes stealing copper pipes and wiring. Too many people wanting to get paid for doing nothing. Most areas are restored.FEMA spent millions.

  • america used to be a great country, but its not anymore. things have really really worsened over the past few yrs.

  • Oh no that narrator did not say li-berry

  • damn, she gave him a $25,000 dollar deposit? what the hell was she thinkin'? check 2:55 everyone...

  • @3.45 three niggers are talking and they have a gun.

  • the government will push all this money over in another country for purpose of war, but nothing for its own country, makes you wonder if the next disaster is as severe else where they wont do shit about it either.

  • why dont the govt. spend the cash in helping these people than goin for war in Afgan and Iraq

  • because there's a large population of black families. the govt dont care in any way whatsoever because to help costs money.

  • The black chick should have went to school, got a degree, and hired a better contractor.. Matter of fact, why move back to that forsaken place anyway?! Just a thought?

  • i agree with the college part of your comment, but: 1)not everyone is colelge material, and 2)that's probably all she knows. she's probably in her "comfort zone". that may not be what you or me would live in, but she's comfortable with it. sad, but true...

  • Maybe you should go back to elementary school and learn English. Had went? Puhleeze!!

  • it will go out like sadom & gomora in the end

  • new orleans is a high crime shit city

  • god punished the sinners

  • Don't Worry we are coming! We are having a Christian conference this July 2008 to go help! god is sending his people. over 2000 Christian college students are coming from all over the world to help as much as physically and spiritually as possible! Lets go ICOC! (international church of christ)

  • I returned from New Orleans in March and am returning in June. I am forever changed! It is sooooo sad to see how LITTLE has been done. My prayers are with all of you and my heart will forever be with you! God Bless the residents of New Orleans! (Thank you for your work 'reflections'!!)

  • umm...she said 2006...katrina was in 2005...???? uhhh... really?

  • i cant believe this guy actually said "LI-BERRY".... library muh-fukah!!!

EMBRACE EDUCATION... READING IS STILL FUNDAMENTAL!!!!!

  • When will the government give back some of the billions of dollars they force these people to pay? The government can change the world by rebuilding these peoples homes, their lives. They would rather see us KILL EACH OTHER. Peace and Blessings

  • Man, this is so unfortunate.

I live in England, and I actually thought everything back to normal. It just shows that the media need to document this more.

  • I just featured this on my page.

You're doing amazing work at highlighting what's really happening down there.

  • Great documentary!

  • This is a great documentary of the after math of Katrina. Its unfortunately, that the government has
