  • 2:26 sends bloddy chills down my spine! It's like an orgasm to the ears!

  • It would have been a great engine, if the Germans who designed it made it and used it !!!. The British army found all the plans and gave them to BRM in the hope they would win with it, but it was a bit to advanced for the UK engineers at the time. The recording is form the book In to the red by Nick mason, well worth getting a copy.

  • Is that hi-pitch sound as the car approaches the intack stacks? .40-.50, 2:24-2:34, 4:00-4:10, etc., amazing, reminds me of a P-51 Mustang!

  • @beauknowz Harmonics between the intake stacks and the exhaust note. Sort of like when 2 trumpets are played one at 440 Hz and the other at 1320 Hz. The intake the higher note because the intake stacks are shorter and the exhaust the lower note as it's longer. A simplistic explanation and the sound is much more complex but it certainly is "music to the ears". The intake sound is projected more forward and is much louder when the car is heading toward the observer. 16 intake stacks?

  • Whoever disliked this needs to be shot. This is the best sounding car I have ever heard. I can't stop listening to it

  • @G0tm4xx21 Its English crap.

And BRM never won much anyway

  • This is not sound, this is not music, this is pure and everlasting LOVE.

  • fuck your adfly bullshit, faggot

  • This has to be the most ferocious noise, ehem........music, I've ever heard. Outstanding!

  • que hermoso sonido !! la f1 actual es mierda en comparacion con la old f1

  • I'm having this played at my wedding AND on my honeymoon! ALL night long. ;)

  • Simply Beautiful sound.

  • This soundtrack is from the BRM that is owned by Nick Mason, of Pink Floyd fame.

This is from the book that he did called Into The Red where he tested all of his old race cars and recorded their engine notes. amazing!

  • God damn i cant think about slamming the pedal to the floor in that beast too much or ill jizz in my pants

  • Hardly high quality at 240p, you are missing a huge bit of fidelity there.

  • Not ''NEW''!

  • The car that screams it's own name around the track. BRM... BRM.... BRRRRRRRM

  • CUMSHOTTTT!!!!

  • Awesome sound quality. Feels like I'm in the stands with good earphones.

  • check out Porsche 917 the legend and aboard the 917 for the sound

of the dohc flat 12. sings a song pulling through the gears. This vid has too many blank areas in it.

  • @definca

This vid doesn't have blank areas. The car goes all the way around the track. Are you just using laptop speakers?

  • If you start listening and your not impressed, go to 2:00

  • Wow, just, wow

  • Epic

  • Why this sound makes me cry ? Fucking awesome

  • Der Pure Klang aus der Hölle....genial...Da bekommt man Tränen vor Ergreifung.

  • why can,t all cars sound like this

  • @paul01071968 my suzuki alto 1.0 does it !

  • Makes me blub like a baby - freakin' unbelievable that a man-made machine can bring a grown man to tears.............thank god this engine was built - I don't care how unreliable it was - I might use this at my funeral!!!!!!!!!

  • this is one of the two engines that actually make me cry. the merlin and this its in credible

  • @00willrocks00 I agree 100% with your comments. I have this sound on a cd and I play it in a room with surround sound, Just unbelieveable !! And the merlin too ! Another engine sound I like is the 12V71 Detroit diesel.

  • 2:25 - wet eyes, and pissed in my pants...

  • 2:25 - wet eyes

  • i was at 1:45 when i accidently clicked on 2:11 from the video with the volume very hard, so now im going to change my underwear.

  • GOOSEBUMPS!!!

  • i feel like going for a drive now on some twisty roads-- too bad my car doesn't sound like this.. 8(

  • I have listened to this overy the last several years and I STILL feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. So much music out of 90cid Wonderful.

  • Dammit why can't they make the vayron sound like this!

  • I love the high tech leather strap over the bonnet! So classy!

  • it says hi quality, but vid is only on 240p :(

  • That is 2- 1.5 litre motors grafted together. So it's 3 litres. The cutting out you hear is the driver's foot bouncing on the throttle. Imagine the spring tension of 16 throttle-bodies!

  • @seely1320 Actually this is a single 1.5 litre supercharged engine. Only naturally aspirated engines were allowed to have 3.0 L by the regultaions of the time.

This engine revs to about 12k and is very powerful. It got a bad rep due to reliability issues, but JM Fangio said this was the greatest F1 car ever made, the most rewarding to drive

  • i showed this to my aunt and she raved about envoronment and protecting the earth do you know what i did next

i typed in ferrari 1995 v12 sound and cranked up the volume

  • @MiniStig98

    Just tell her about CLIMATEGATE.....

  • That really does sound beautiful, it's like dying and listening to it as you die.

  • When you consider this engine was 1.5 liters .. somewhat smaller than a Honda Civic .. and 16 cylinders, it is indeed a matchless sound. If I am not mistaken, this car belongs to Nick Mason, Pink Floyd's drummer. The "cutting out" you hear is indeed just that .. they suspected ignition problems .. 1950 technology was hardly up to 12,000 rpm.

  • Sometimes I hear it again to get better.......try to search mazda 787b...nice sound too

  • @Herik77 And Matra V12 .

  • People who aren't into engines or cars just don't get it. All they hear is noise. What I hear makes me gut sink and my heart beat fast and my mind LUST with ENVY because I WANT IT! How frustrating it is to be surrounded by people who just don't get it. They think it's a fad, a phase, something people grow out of. Well, I'm 30 years old and I'm more crazy about automotive stuff now than EVER. True enthusiasts are enthusiasts until death. I'm gonna go drive the hell out of my Mustang now..

  • @xilix You are absolutely right. For some, it might be a passing phase, but I'm old enough to be your grandad, and it's never left me!

I am in Ireland, and drive a 1977 Reliant Scimitar GTE, which I've named THOR, after the god of thunder, because of the enormous noise it makes. I saw, and heard the BRM at Silverstone, as a boy, around 1950-51, and I've never forgotten it! Don't feel frustrated by others' lack of appreciation- Enjoy your Mustang!!

    David Campbell.

  • I worked with this car at the national motor museum. Beautiful machine

  • I wonder how it sounds at 20,000 RPM's? i think it could kill some one with the sound O.O

  • this is probably THE best sounding engine i've ever heard

  • Having heard one of these several times in real life, I can tell you this.

This sounds good, but hearing it in real life is one of the worlds great experiences. I will always remember the first time i heard this car, It was saturday at the festival of speed. When they fired this baby up on the start line, you couldn;t think, and circa 100,00 heads all turned towards it, as if to say WTF is that! Louder than anything you have ever heard and sets the hairs on your neck standing to attention

  • oh my fucking godO.o it´s the best sound i´ve ever heard *_*

  • Brutally Roaring Motors

  • If my car sounded like that I would be in real trouble. It's beyond amazing!

  • While wonderful in all respects, the BRM engines were unreliable...I wish someone would build one using todays manufacturing tech and metalurgy. It would be Awesome.

  • hmm... Brutal Rotary Madness

  • @loginvidea Sorry, Rotary what now?

  • you could have warned me....... ! gotta go change my pants now :-)

  • I wish my GF made this sound during sex.

  • @dart5722010 She does.

  • @Stealthbong The greatest comment on you tube!

  • @Stealthbong Youtuber being nice... too nice? Oh wait.....

  • @dart5722010 She does !

  • @dart5722010 she does when I come round!!!

  • @dart5722010 if they does , i be shit in bed , will cum in 1 sec loool

  • 13 people may be deaf :) What a wonderful sound!!!

  • It sounds even better than the Auto Union Type C. It's the higher revs. I wonder if there are women out there who feel the same emotion men feel when hearing this. If so, she should be my future wife. Pure audioporn this is.

  • @MrSavantas Sorry to say this but women don't find interest in this.Only thing matters to them is how the car looks, how fast is it,how expensive is it.This is something that only MEN can understand!

  • I may cry.

  • that engine is a supercharged 1.5 V16 that produced 600HP at 12,000 RPM designed in 1947. just wow.

  • My gosh this is super-porn!!!

  • Whaaaaaaaaa!

  • God gave up trying to be heard over it and went to cause more bother in the middle east instead.

  • God gave up trying to be heard over it and went to cause more bother in the middle east instead.

  • If Satan himself made engines that used kittens for fuel, it would sound like this

  • @andydiscovery YYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! this is the best comment someone could make for a sound like this... kittens for fuel!... that sound as mean as the freaking engine!!!

  • @andydiscovery dude you just made me cry of laughter

  • @andydiscovery This car sounds like HEAVEN to me.......the electric and hybrid cars sound like HELL to me.

  • @andydiscovery kittens for fuel ? . no way .. baby tigers for sure

  • Can you send me this audio file? Or where i can download this? Awesome!

  • God himself is speaking through those exhausts...

  • That Audio track is on a CD that was free with Motor Sport magazine over ten years ago entitled "Sounds of Goodwood" with Simon Taylor and Nick Mason

Track three is the BRM, and of better quality on the cd. ,

That includes the expletive from someone in the pits.

  • with respect to MudBar, you are missing the point, it is not the visual, revel in the SOUND!!! (6.2min)

  • @MudBarf ...YouTube is for SOUND and video, petal. A BRM V16 having its nuts squeezed is all about the sound. Use your imagination...

  • @MudBarf ...... TOOL

  • @jeffdaharper I have a chest full of those. Would you like to see it?

  • @MudBarf well I challenge you to find a video of the car running on a track, let's see if you keep thinking it's that easy to put a video of something like this on Youtube

  • @95stangdude I don't have to - half a dozen people have done it already. Just take a look over there -->

They didn't seem to find it so hard.

  • @MudBarf Not others silly, I said you. I know there's videos out there, my point is it's not that easy to find footage of the car running on a track other than the ones that are already out there, do you see where I'm going? Besides, this is freaking amazing, even without the video. Just enjoy it!

  • @95stangdude But you challenged me to find a video of it. You didn't say *WHERE*. I found it. Over there >>>

So challenge accepted, and completed. :-p

  • @MudBarf You got me on that one, lol XD

  • @95stangdude Narf Narf! ;)

  • Not new at all.

  • go to vscc silverstone 1990....to watch this car do 2 laps of silverstone...

  • pffff...............

  • new?!? I've heard this a 1000 times -.-''

  • I think the driver is lost, or perhaps he stopped to sort out the unbelievably irritating fuel starvation, does anybody know how to fix proper engines anymore??

  • @dieseldan100 they have fixed it look at my video it was recorded at goodwood 2010

  • @dieseldan100 Yup. Just add more kittens.
