The lab coat and dummy just made it more expensive. Actually you can make a dummy with milk bottles...plastic ones, just tape them all together. Or soda (pop) bottles. Or do it with a real person backwards...so you can run it backwards and it will look forward.

Zoom in while going backwards or zoom out while going forward.

It's called the "dolly out zoom in" effect. The camera physically moves out but the zoom lens moves in, distorting the background. However, this shot was done in reverse, creating a bizarre "dolly in zoom out" effect.

it's called a trombone shot. The camera moves away from the subject while at the same time zooming in. This can also be done vice versa.

that's done by zooming in while the camera is moving backwards, or zooming out while the camera is moving toward the subject. It's a great effect- Hitchcock used it.

Either zoom out as you move towards someone, or zoom in as you're moving away. It's a great effect; you see it in Hitchcock, Poltergeist and Home Alone.
