Why are most AK pistol in small calibers? (5.45 or 5.56) 7.62x39 is much better in an sbr because it isn't a very high velocity round and a shorter barrel doesn't affect it's ballistics nearly as much as the 5.45/5.56.
Problem with this is it does not have a true 8 inch barrel(that would need to be cut) and would be extra hard for a builder to make into an SBR with the krinkov folding stock, however its nice.
Why the fake flash hider? It does not make any sense. To make it a proper sbr, now you have to not only add a stock, but also have the barrel cut to proper length.
This thing is kind of disappointing. First it's not really a Krink if it's in 5.56mm (instead of 5.45mm) Plus the fake Krink flash hider that's hiding the longer barrel is kind of lame. If this were in 5.45 and had a shorter threaded barrel or even if that fake flash hider worked it wouldn't be too bad. Price point for an Aresenal Krink isn't terrible.
@jericbrogdon It's not a "fake Krink". The 5.45mm is obsolete in all former Warsaw Pact countries, they all swapped over to a 5.56mm AK. That's why all that cheap surplus 5.45mm is available on the civilian market, at least until its all sold out and then it dries up for good. Actually buying a 5.56mm AK74 variant (AK101 series) makes more sense in the long run ~ especially for us here in the US.
@the308capital All Zastava firearms are robust well made firearms. Some people are critical of the lack of a chrome lined barrel. However, they use a heavier barrel profile that outlasts even the typical chrome lined thinner AK barrel. They also use a 1.5mm thicker RPK style receiver with stronger trunnions. They even make a very powerful military AK in 7.62x51mm NATO, see: w w w . zastava-arms . rs/
It sucks about 922R, these excellent AK's aren't importable here in the US.
@Everett07630 Civilain lead core 5.45 is as cheap as 7.62x39. Still sounds fine to me. Besides when russia switches to a different caliber it'll happen all over again.
@TheAk47Enthusiast Except for super expensive Hornady 5.45X39 60 gr V-MAX, there are no domestic US producers of 5.45x39mm. All it takes is for the anti-gun politicians to implement a Russian import ammo ban, even the civilian grade lead core 5.45x39 will dry up. This is the main reason I chose to purchase my AK's in 5.56x45 and 7.62x39 - both calibers are domestically produced. If you're heavily committed to 5.45mm stock pile extra ammo while you can - especially the steel core stuff.
@Everett07630 that's like saying the 7.62 will eventually dry up because of the warsaw pact countries stopped using them. BTW they still produce the 7.62 and the 5.45.
@101crazys If commie Obama sign an ammo importation ban, kiss 5.45mm good bye, because there's only one domestic producer, everything else is import. Think such a ban cannot happen? Back in the 1990's under commie-democrat Bill Clinton, the govt banned the importation of all steel core (M43) 7.62x39mm military rounds. Yes it was completely done for anti-gun political reasons because steel core 7.62x54R is still legal for import. At least with 7.62x39mm every US ammo producer makes domestically.
@Everett07630 yea, but at the same time I like the ballistics of the round and replacing the barrel in the rifle shouldn't be too much of a challenge.

Well this could be a game changa to the draco. Although it wouldn't look that good for an SBR without the classic triangle stock. imo lol. But still has alot of potential,
Nutn may talk a lot but at least he says more than this is cool buy this, it seems to me a lot of YouTube gun channels are just salesmen. Of course strumgehwre is one of the exceptions. Oh and why would you want it in 5.45 instead of 5.56 the only advantage I see is ammo cost and that's only if you buy that shitty corrosive surplus ammo.
Limited supply creates demand and serves as a test to see if the market is viable for a full run. It'll be interesting to see if anybody can turn these into 545 once they come into the country.
@DCReese The Bulgarian military stopped using 5.45mm Soviet when it became a NATO member. All the Bulgarian AK74 variants are now build in 5.56mm NATO only. I rather have this in 5.56mm NATO, as the mags and ammo is easier to find, that they use a 1:7 barrel so one can use the heavier grain 5.56mm rounds which are more effective than surplus 5.45mm.
@trenttyre True, but why? The .300 blackout is essentially an expensive copy of the 7.62x39mm in a format that can be reliably used for the AR15 platform. If I want an AR15 with the kinetic energy of the 7.62mm AK, than I purchase a .300 blackout upper for my AR15. Or if I really want an uber suppressed AK or AR, than the .300 blackout makes sense. But to re-barrel an AK isn't a do-it-yourself job, it requires a hydraulic barrel press, an every time you re-barrel an AK you weaken the trunnion.
@Everett07630 every time you re-barrel an AK you weaken the trunnion...and the receiver. It would make more sense if companies just offered AK in other calibers from the ground up, or develop the quick change barrel technology that other platforms are using.
@P226nut I removed that clip because of the sound track being played. Instead of going through a bunch of web forms for getting royalty free music approved, I just deleted it as I have a bunch of more important things to do - like getting the rest of the SHOT videos up. :)
Why only in "limited numbers"? As an Arsenal owner, I really hate when Arsenal does this just to jack up their prices. The did the same thing with the milled receiver AK's. And then when one has the money to purchase one of the high end builds, KVAR is always "sold out".
Why don't they make it in 7.62. Come on arsenal

@Everett07630 Agreed. That's why I never bought a 5.45. Even the Serbian Zastava M90 is 5.56 and Zastava makes some good AKs.
