  • Great drumset and great playing!!!Please can you do me a favour!?Can you find out is it possible to put floor tom into bass drum (like yamahas rick marotta model? If it fits I am gonna buy it next day!!!

  • How does the bass drum sound? ( I have crappy speakers) It sounds AWSOME though. Is it only a 16 inch bass drum? I REALLY need a smaller kit because my band has a REALLY small room.

I think this is it !

    Cheers

  • Perfect demo. Nice playing. Mine's on the way. Can you tell me the mic situation in this video please? Thanks!

  • @misterdoogals Remo Powerstroke 3..I tune my bass drum by hand tightening all of the lugs and then giving them each half a turn with the key...done.

  • Hey man I noticed you sold your kit on ebay. Why??

  • sounds killer picking one up today selling my starclassics lol need the smallet kit

  • Sonor is one Drum Company that gets it!

With gas prices almost $5.00 a gal is so nice to find a product that has a reasonable price tag and is worth more than what you paid for it!

I went to the drum store for something else and I ended up getting this little kit just for practice and I have felt in love with it! I put an Aqurian Super Kick One head on the bass drum batter side and a Aqurarian regulator on the ressonant side of the bass drum and it sounds great

Catch up Pearl, Yamaha, and DW

  • @chicoco1 Thanks. I agree, this kit sounds a lot bigger than it is. I owned a Yamaha Manu Katche and this kit blows it away in my opinion. I'd be hesitant to gig with the Manu Katche. I'll take this kit out any day. I've noticed with some of the smaller kits that the drums come out of tune quicker. Maybe because I tune low but this kit stays tuned.

  • Uhhh.....Sounds Amazing??!!

  • thx

  • I am really considering one of these.. I am a rock/funk drummer.. How do they fare playing stuff other than jazz??

  • @stix4Him Hey man, I don't have this kit but am close to getting one and in my opinion it would be more then fine. I play funk and fusion which you can see all over my channel, I had a Gretsch Catalina be-bop kit in the past and that thing was crankin' so I think these being similar in size and bass wood some what similar sounding to mahogony would be more then fine!

  • hello why safari, its not a jungle set kit???beautiful drum

  • I'll be putting some Evans heads on, too, but I'll beat these up a bit first. Not bad at all. Thanks for that video. You sold a few kits with it. :)

  • I have never used the cheaper Remo UX heads before, but, I like the sound of the UX heads on that small tom and snare very much.

  • @frny4x

their not bad but I'd like to throw on single ply coated evans heads....

  • how do you like this compared to the yamaha, I am having trouble deciding between this and the other. I sorta liek the kick more ont he Yamaha from your vidoe but need some input

  • Please tell me where I can get that kit for 300. I see them for 400.

  • @frny4x

This is the Safari kit not the Bop kit which is slightly bigger...Check out Greenbrier Percussion in Fredericksburg, VA....They have the kit for $339 with free delivery.

  • Sounds really good dave.. Mapex seems to of perfected those freakin' basswood shells somehow.. Try the 1-ply back on the floor, as IMO.., the 2 ply's just kill most soft woods too quickly. Youtube any Yamaha new model RTC and they all sound dead, even though they are quality shells.

  • @janescult

Thanks for the comments. I will definitely experiment with the single ply on the floor. I might be able to get some more oomph.
