I've been working for Visit Scotland for a while now and had seen this advert before it aired. I sent a link to my sister in NZ, cousins in Canada and Aunt in South Africa. I've managed to convince most of them to come over in summer 09.

It has NOTHING to do with singing talent - otherwise Kelly Brown and Thom Evans wouldn't have been asked.

The point of this advert is to remind people what next year's all about. Burns, Rugby, whisky month etc and to celebrate Scotland, scottish or not.

If you actually listen to the lyrics, they're about exactly that. They sing that they've changed and have been afraid of drifting away. The song later goes 'now I have moved and I've kept on moving, proved the points that I needed proving' - you have to remember that a lot of the people in this advert had to move away to further their careers. But it's about remembering where you're from, and if they didn't do that, they wouldn't be in the advert.
