When I got full testing done with my doctor, I called up to see when I could come in to discuss with him about a week after the test and he just gave me all the results over the phone. Obviously a positive result would have to be discussed in person, but I think some doctors just make it easier on themselves by just telling negative results over the phone.

Actually it's worse than that! According to Dr. Davis author of Are You Positive, the HIV tests are 90% inaccurate. Dr. Davis is even giving them more credit than they deserve. I give them 000!! Because They don't know what they're testing for! This microbe has never been isolated which means we can conclude IT DOES NOT EXIST!
Um, no......some tests are more accurate than others, but they are not 90% inaccurate. And yes, they DO know what they're looking for. It's a nasty little virus that invades cells and changes the DNA, leading to decreased numbers of T cells. This gives way to opportunistic infections that eventually kills a HIV/AIDS positve person. It's not the virus that kills...it's the infections that result from the compromised immune system.
actually, they test for specific antibodies that the body develops in response to infection from HIV, not the virus itself. Providing you have waited for the correct amount of time post-possible infection, the test is effective. positives are nearly 99% correct, and negatives are 100% correct providing you don't test too early.
Just so you know, there are tests that look for the virus itself. One is called the RNA PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test that can isolate the virus. This test is used for blood donor screening as well as screening infants born to HIV positive mothers.

When I got full testing done with my doctor, I called up to see when I could come in to discuss with him about a week after the test and he just gave me all the results over the phone. Obviously a positive result would have to be discussed in person, but I think some doctors just make it easier on themselves by just telling negative results over the phone.

Would you care to explain to me how after growing up with this in the family, always taking a more than average interest why it is that the ONLY people that I've seen get sick or die of "hiv" have been the ones taking the meds? Again you cannot answer the question. People who are really sick with HIV infection improve on the meds. Their viral loads go down, their CD4 goes up.
I am asking you a simple question.
I am not talking about people without HIV having high viral loads. But I am asking WHY people with viral loads improve on meds. Their viral loads go down to undetectable with drugs.

@baldwinvillage The problem is that HAART does NOT improve lifespan. Yes...they can manipulate the lab readings but that doesn't actually matter to a person's health.
Also....the "hiv" tests are unstandardized and nonspecific. There are SEVENTY known conditions which cause +'s on those crap tests and mamy different ways ti interprete the results. People can change their diagnosis just by changing locations or giving different info about their "risk group"

Uhhh ... before scared the crap out of people check your facts ... medical science has yet to prove HIV causes AIDS ... in fact Africa, the US, the UK and Canada all have different testing standards to confirm a + test. In fact according to yale, there is a one in six false positive rate on testing ... less than 3 % is considered a wash ... but 1 in 6 is just bad science.

Actually it's worse than that! According to Dr. Davis author of Are You Positive, the HIV tests are 90% inaccurate. Dr. Davis is even giving them more credit than they deserve. I give them 000!! Because They don't know what they're testing for! This microbe has never been isolated which means we can conclude IT DOES NOT EXIST!

Um, no......some tests are more accurate than others, but they are not 90% inaccurate. And yes, they DO know what they're looking for. It's a nasty little virus that invades cells and changes the DNA, leading to decreased numbers of T cells. This gives way to opportunistic infections that eventually kills a HIV/AIDS positve person. It's not the virus that kills...it's the infections that result from the compromised immune system.

actually, they test for specific antibodies that the body develops in response to infection from HIV, not the virus itself. Providing you have waited for the correct amount of time post-possible infection, the test is effective. positives are nearly 99% correct, and negatives are 100% correct providing you don't test too early.

Just so you know, there are tests that look for the virus itself. One is called the RNA PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test that can isolate the virus. This test is used for blood donor screening as well as screening infants born to HIV positive mothers.

No. people are still living longer. The world's population is at its peek, but it is irrelevant. The virus is real. The world may not notice the deaths of 2 million people in a single year (2007) It is just a drop in the ocean, but if you are one of those people, or someone you love, it matters. Antiretro virals are toxic, as is chemotherapy, but people dying will put themselves through sickness, poisoning themselves if it means they can spend just a few more years with people they love.

The "hiv" tests do NOT detect any "hiv" and the meds used to treat the "hiv" that the tests can't detect anyway are deadly poison. That's about it. If you don't want to look into any further that's up to you.
