  • it's drunk...

  • can it go any faster?

  • WTF!?

WHAT IS IT WITH PEOPLE NOT UNDERSTANDING THAT SPIDERS HAVE 8 LEGS?!!?!

  • Please I would like to invite you to some of my designs as well.

  • HEX BUG SPIDER!!

  • awsome!

  • That is fucking sweet. At time of recording, how long int othe project were you?

  • Make it a headcrab

  • can you make one for these little robots cockroach hunter and killer.. now that would be something ! lol

  • it would be cool to set lose 1000 of these all in a room

  • g00d job!!

  • very nice..

    P.s. spiders have 8 legs

  • Umm... If it's case was different looks more like gorilla than a spider...

    :)Cool though...

  • one thing i would add is the movement should be 2 legs at a time like when walking foward move the top right and back left foward at the same time. it would be so much more fluent and faster. same goes for the turning. otherwise its pretty ok

  • jejeje¡¡¡¡, argue over how many legs a spider has

  • the man who have created this robot is a awesome i love the best of this robot is how it move

  • i love the way it moves

  • awesome

  • protos dragoon..

    "en taro adun"

  • it actually does walk a bit like a dragoon ;d

  • It's movement looks surprisingly fluid but the legs should move independently from the body--it looks like it's throwing all its weight around.

  • 1st. its not stable

    2nd.spider has 8 leg

  • spiders have 8 legs, not 4, R I right?

  • or 6 legs

  • insects have 6 legs, spiders are not insects

  • looks like a dragoon from sc lol

  • good job .. excellent

you need to alter the legs to be more stability .. but however it is excellent .

  • my god how is that a spider the spider has eight legs comon guys

  • Thats too cool :)

  • where is your power supply?

  • The only problems i see there are the legs (need more joints) and walking movement (Grip), but in the overall its nicely done. Congrats

  • How big is it, and what does it get it's power from?

  • The big metal part of the legs were about 8" long. 3 servo's per leg (it was underpowered, and short on traction, so it was a little difficult to make it walk properly)

I think we ended up with a Lithium Polymer battery. We just weren't getting the power-to-weight out of a regular Ni-Cad.

For the record, our design started out with 6 legs, making it a little closer to a "spider", and the description sort of stuck (at least in my mind)

  • WOAH!!! YOU IS A GENIUS

  • science geek makes it walk on sleeping friend, smash half a million research dollars down the drain LOL

  • spider has eight feet

  • it wiggles it's ass

  • good work i want one

  • somebody's learnt how to count... awesome (Y) lay off the guy, he made a robot, which is more than you could do i bet

  • great work!!

  • good job!!!!

  • U shoud put a spy cam in front of it.Now that would be awsome.(^_^)

  • Angle the end not moving forward downward so that you can add a sort of push off motion to the back legs. Spiders that sprint or go fast have an angle to them so that they can push more foreward relative to more upward.

  • people please, for the love of god, tell them to put some treads on it's feets.

  • It's more of a walker

  • the gait needs some improvement but the construction seems good. Nice job!

  • next time make it 8 legs and i'll want one :) nice job tho !

  • chodzi jak kaleka..walking like cripple

  • how many servos?

  • It seems like it uses 12 servos .... , 3 DOF per leg.

  • it looks lyk a 2 years old crawling

  • Very nice work! Programming for four legs is a bitch, isn't it?

  • is it spider ???I dont think so... when it turns left or right,it have some programme error. but construction design is good. ( its an ant that dont have middle legs :D:D:D)

  • =) yes your right

  • awesome design

  • juseliaaa, i'm an engineer not a biologist, lol. we called it a spider cause it walks like one with the motion of the legs. it's not so much the shape of the limbs that was the problem, the servos were underpowered for the size (but better servos were expensive)

  • shape of limbs has nothing to do with it... spiders = 8 legs... 5/5 btw nice work

  • The Legs look like the ones off of the lynxmotion hexapod

  • Really? A spider has 8 legs? Hmm. Really. Well thanks for that input Doctor.

  • Drags its feet a lot. Reshape the forelimbs?

  • traction problem?

  • put a camera on it and spy on people >:)

  • bkm buen invento

  • very cool! I'm a chemical engineering student, so we don't really play with robots too much. Although this is pretty cool nonetheless!
