I love this music. I dance the Veleta Waltz to it twice a week. The singing is as near perfection as it is possible to get. And the lady must be one of the moat beautiful on this earth. I adore the bit where they dance together, it's a great extra touch. And,judging by the applause, the audience love it too.
He has a great voice - but why can't he sing it in English for once, so we can all understand it? I know that the composer was from Austria or Germany, but it would be so nice to be able to understand what they were singing about without having to do a degree in german. You could say that love has no language? Love knows good nor bad, but runs wherever the wild heart leads? Perhaps you are right....
i can't speak german but the music and performance of the two and the orchestra more than compensate for that. they were all very good. thanks for the post.
What GREAT ennunciation by this lady - even in Deutsch - makes a really pleasant change to actually hear the words - so often the most serious failing with many top singers, the great Dame Joan S being probably the worst offender in this respect!
Franz Lehar is extremely underrated. If his output had matched Strauss, so would his reputation, I believe. If you like this, listen to his "Gold and Silver Waltz", the most beautiful waltz I think of all time.
Why does Doming ALWAYS look as if he's going to burst out laughing? That's not a complaint, by the way. His acting is second to none and his singing.......

I like the exquisite phrasing of Hong. Yet, she doesn't miss a single syllable of the difficult German diction. She is great.

@fanjuveen I agree about this lady's wonderful enunciation; but I award the 'worst enunciator' prize to Kiri te Kanawa......

Ference Lehar is another great Hungarian composer. The music is amazing and full of emotion.

They're cute together. But the best part of this Lehar classic is the last one third, from 3:13 and particularly from 4:05 to the fin.
