hey this actually happens in real life too. My husband just told me he wanted a divorce 6 months after I opened my own business and became a sucessful business woman while hes still going to school.
coming from the business, I do not think this is a "curse." This is a very personable business in which people get fairly intimately close to each other. When one gets recognized before the other, professional jealousy is bound to happen. Blend that with just society not liking women achieving success in their careers before a man does. That is the "Oscar curse," which is just coincidence. And before this decade, separation didn't happen often for Best Actress winners.
This goes to tell you that success isn't everything. It may earn you a bigger paycheck, but what if it drifts your family apart?? I dont think these man were jelaous of their wifes.. well maybe they were a little. But maybe both spouses have been too business oriented and forgot on their loved ones?? Some things are more important than than power and success..
