Evan was very lucky; he could have lost to Plushy in 2010. Skaters like Lambiel, Buttle, Takahashi, Chan all have far more artistic talent and should have scored significantly higher pcs. Yagudin's performance has to be compared to the system back then but it is safe to say he would have done well with COP though he'd have to work on his spins and transitions.

People are crazy comparing Lysacek. Yagudin is perfect-he's artistic and technical, great transitions, divine footwork...and the ONLY skater that can tell a story with his programs. Lysacek just skates what Lori tells him to do, without challenging jumps and slow.

THAT was why I was pissed when he won. Figure skating IS regressing. Look at Yagudin. NO ONE has matched his Olympic perfomance. The new scoring system makes it impossible to use straight line footwork, miming or creativity.

i blame Plushenko's silver on russian figure skating federation: they didn't bring him back earlier. even in Turin we knew that there was actually no change for him, no such genius as he or Yagudin. that's why Plush looked very tired (3 years without training!!!). if he had 1 year more he'd get the golden medal i believe.

We just can't compare Laysacek and Yagudin... Alexiej was a genius. He's placed over the human level, as Plushenko.
