To be safe, let me reiterate: I am NOT defending the police in this situation, and especially not in any of the situations in any of the other videos. I've been looking up the names of these victims as they're mentioned in these videos, and researching them individually. For the most part, the way these videos have reported these incidences has been correct. However, the delivery on this one is extremely skewed, and I feel it lowers the overall integrity of the message.
Did anyone else think to actually read some of the articles about this case before condemning the officers? Not sure what happened yet, but there's a lot of testimony that isn't mentioned here. For instance: two civilians were attacked by him, and witnesses attest to him acting crazy and scary in various ways (taking off his clothes and running around 'flailing his arms", and ramming people off the road.) They should have handled the situation better, but they had every reason to be afraid.
Let me get this straight - a badly burned, naked man, was sitting on the road, obviously a victim of a car crash. Worried about THEIR safety, police tazed him twice and forced him to make contact between his burned skin and the road. Because the two policemen were afraid of the blood (you need two open cuts for disease transmission) and his reaction to being shocked twice, they shot him six times and left him for dead. Of course, they returned to their jobs without being deemed criminals.

Also, it seems this kind of behavior is common with people of low-self esteem or ego issues. I see it in my family somewhat. A parent asks you to perform a task, and that task, even though completely illogical, is asked to be completed. Because of my parent's ego and low self confidence, denying to complete this task sends them into a fit of fear -- fear of being disrespected and loss of control. Anger typically ensues. To be safe, let me reiterate: I am NOT defending the police in this situation, and especially not in any of the situations in any of the other videos. I've been looking up the names of these victims as they're mentioned in these videos, and researching them individually. For the most part, the way these videos have reported these incidences has been correct. However, the delivery on this one is extremely skewed, and I feel it lowers the overall integrity of the message.

Did anyone else think to actually read some of the articles about this case before condemning the officers? Not sure what happened yet, but there's a lot of testimony that isn't mentioned here. For instance: two civilians were attacked by him, and witnesses attest to him acting crazy and scary in various ways (taking off his clothes and running around 'flailing his arms", and ramming people off the road.) They should have handled the situation better, but they had every reason to be afraid.

Let me get this straight - a badly burned, naked man, was sitting on the road, obviously a victim of a car crash. Worried about THEIR safety, police tazed him twice and forced him to make contact between his burned skin and the road. Because the two policemen were afraid of the blood (you need two open cuts for disease transmission) and his reaction to being shocked twice, they shot him six times and left him for dead. Of course, they returned to their jobs without being deemed criminals.
