To make the statement that they "loved to slaughter innocent civilians" suggests that it was an act carried out by all members of the ss. It is an insult to those who served in the Waffen SS, and it is due to statements like that, made by people like you that there is this ridiculous perception that every man who was in the SS was some sort of murderous animals! They were soldiers, fighting a war. Whatever supposed attrocities the Germans had carried out, the allies did much worse.

yeah yeah. they were soldiers. duh. but get your facts straight before you spew out that crap. in a town where a suspected enemy was hiding, they would take the whole town out, blindfold them and machine gun them down. they would knife women from their throats to their crotches. they would smash babies into trees. and not just once. oh no, they did it repeatedly, especially during their retreat. so saying the allies committed more atrocities is like saying that george bush was worse than stalin.

@drinkyourtea I am in no way endorsing what was done to the Jews, But it sickens me to see this constant assumption that the Waffen SS were some sort of legion of evil. They were not the ones in the prison camps, they were trained to fight with unrivaled discipline and bravery, Why would the German government (who trained them at great expense) use these elites to round up civilians? People need to learn the difference between the SS and the Waffen SS.
