  • i mean o offense by this, it's a great lesson, but has anyone ever told you that you like like "John" from the Saw movies?

  • i better not get any viruses if i click on the link >:(

  • Great video man. I have been on hiatus for the last while and I am startin to get back into it after 5 years. This vid has made it easy to pick up my guitar again and want to learn. I will be playing love songs to my gf in no time.

  • I was given an old Yamaha fg345 that has had electric added to it. I am watching your vids. They say how important the size is but..... even though this guitar is kinda big for me I don't want to give it back. I know I will need a strap to hold it steady but is it hopeless for me to keep trying on this guitar? I am only 5'2". I am willing to put in the work and time to learn to play this guitar. Any advice?

  • 1st timer here,i cant seem to keep my fingers from touching the string next to the string im playing, making the cord sound crappy, example 2nd cord shown, my ring ringer dulls string below it (middle finger/ string) how do i get past this?

  • Excellent lesson Mr.Taub as always. Rock On!

  • Hey David, I am loving the lessons but I have a problem. I am new to playing and have noticed that a couple of my strings keep playing the note longer than I think it should on open play..does that make sense? Is this normal or is something out of whack with my guitar? Thanks, Angela

  • @gwynne04 - You need to mute the strings when you don't want to let the ring out. You can life up you chord hand a little to deaden the notes, or you can drop you strumming hand down on the strings.

  • @gwynne04 Are the ringing out longer open? If so it's completely natural, it's just sustain. If no you may be fretting them harder than other notes, or hitting them harder with the pick.

  • good thanks

  • Hey David another great video. Kudos Kudos Kudos!!!

  • Another great post! Love it how you teach to all levels!

  • Need more intermediate accoustic lessons....

  • Clicked just for your guitar. I'm an intermediate/higher intermediate acoustic player and could name every chord you played just looking at your hand. :P

  • Aren't you the guitarist in U2?

  • I think your video lessons are great, their easy to follow and i like the way that you dont go straight into it,you take your time and strum slowly at first to give us a heared version of the chord which really helps, thanks and keep 'em comin :)

  • The great ones practice the basics...

  • thumbs up from 500 :)

    rock on good people

  • I can't even play power chords good and I also have a problem with muting other strings when I(try to) play.

  • @PhantomSkinzTV believe me with this channel (rock on good people you are going to learn a lot) they help me a lot !

  • @ElGbayRGX I know they do. I will progress if I keep at it. I only had my guitar for 2 days now.

  • Wow i really Love the Light u can turn On and of on Youtube now...

  • Yeah yeah, but how about some advanced stuff for us 1337 guitarists?

  • @HitaroX They have that too. You can't expect every single video to be on our level. Everybody was a beginner once.

  • @WhiteShadow139 Yeah I know, but, the last videos for like a year have been only for beginners. you're only beginner once, but you never finish learning.

  • Hi - check our YOuTube channel as we like to spread things out - we have lessons for all level - beginners through advanced and many different genres of music - enjoy and rock on!

    David T

  • @HitaroX Next level guitar has a whole site full of advanced lessons. The youtube stuff is just to show what is offered there.

  • Good news. You can now play 70 percent of all Pop songs.

  • @GQflydude I think you can play more than 120% of all pop songs ;)

  • @GQflydude so true

  • @GQflydude This IS for beginners, you know...

  • @H057IL3 What you may have wrongly mistaken as "troll'n" was actually what is considered humor by the rest of society. It's making light of the use of 4 chords very similar to these, what some might consider over usage. This would be categorized into "dry" humor, or dead pan. It's not intended to insult, but rather be a straight forward, quickly delivered, observation that arouses unique emotions that are often somewhat uncomfortable.

  • @GQflydude

In a way, what I was saying was also humorous, as most pop musicians nowadays are beginners at their best.

I was just trying to make things clear, sorry :P

  • @H057IL3 It's all good as long as we are on the same page here

  • You're a tool.

  • David Towel?

    David T

  • @rockongoodpeople Didn't know Taylor made strings. Have you ever used Elixirs? I'd really recommend them, they play and sound great! Thanks for the reply!
