I used ambien for about 2 years and pretty much took it every night. Started with a really nice buzz and it was fun to watch the computer screen distort. Different colors came out at you while others turned behind them. Like a crazy 3d image. Gave me an buzz like alcohol. My insomnia was crazy. Now I've built a tolerance to it. Just had surgery and been off it for a month and am getting more natural sleep. But boy, when it worked, it worked well.

Your concerns are valid. When I first took Zolpidem for insomnia yrs ago I did some crazy and dangerous shit... because I didn't take my ass to bed immediately. If you take zolpidem and go to bed, you're golden, if not, well, you may be surprised to find a NO PARKING sign in your trunk and you'll be wondering "WTF happened to my side view mirror?" It's a strong drug but when all else fails you gotta do what's necessary to get some sleep.
