  • Most underated band in the history of music

  • great song of an great band

  • Yes, this is the oldie but goodie Strawbs album which I listened to EVERY NIGHT IN my darkest night during the 70's. Oh darling go to sleep...hope you guys come on here once inawhile so I can give you my thanks for the comfort of a lonely lady in the middle of the 70's whose life was saved by the likes of you!

  • Yes meets the Moodys...

  • strawbs! the one band that got me through the 70's and the death of my beloved boyfriend. I used to play this album night after night looking for an answer. So glad to find them on youtube after all these years. Thanks guys...

  • @margarita6022 Sorry for you sad loss....a great band to remember a loved one by....I was 11 or 12 when I discovered them and got sucked into their mystical magical wonder which changed me forever. I find no other music even remotely equal to theirs, and you can see by my name how much I identify with them. They are one of a kind, and David Cousin's voice will go down in history!

  • OMG I never thought I would hear this agian . Thank you so much . I remember getting my new Garrard SP 25 Mk 4 , Teac Amp and Kev speakers and filling the room with this in 1973. What memories

  • this is wonderful! thanks for taking the time to post this properly. Appreciate your "keepingtheseventiesalive" sentiment, There is much more great music there than the post-punk philosophers would allow.

    wordofgord

  • fantastic track from Bursting at the Seams....... I used to buy 4 or 5 albums a week in the early 70's, unfortunately my former wife destroyed them out of spite when we split.... i had them all, Yes, ELP, Alice Cooper, Elton John, Wishbone Ash, Focus..... don't make them like this any more.... RIP British Prog Rock

  • phazoo !!

  • Thanks for the post.... I have all the Strawbs vinyls... safely stowed away... I haven't had a turntabe for a long while. A sound engineer friend of mine is gonna set me up to transfer my vinyls (lots O' great music from the past never made it to CDs.)

  • @BillyJoeVegas Do yourself a favour and get a good turntable. You'd be amazed and surprised...

  • @BillyJoeVegas What a great shame. I suggest you un-stow them, get yourself a proper deck and enjoy what you've been missing. If they are transfered to mp3 format, they will carry 11 times less musical information than cd, and cd carries 5 times less information than vinyl. What are you waiting for?

  • @chrisguygeezer on my "bucket list" ;-)

  • This is music of high class!

  • Yep, that's Blue - with some lovely Mellotron strings! Met him at a Strawbs concert in Whitehaven (of all places!) in (I think) 1998 - he's got a great CV! Amen Corner, the Strawbs (of course) and the Bee Gees! So that catchy synth run on Jive Talkin' and the dreamy electric piano on How Deep Is Your Love? is our Blue! What a versatile guy! And what an edition of OGWT that was! Judee Sill, Poco and the Moodies! Those were the days!

  • Pretty sure the only 'Live' aspect is Dave Cousins' vocals!

  • Immortal..

  • Aye. One of my favourite pieces from this band. Perhaps that best concert I ever attended was the Strawbs and the Man band at Massey Hall in the 70's. Incredible, and an incredible impact on folks that I knew had attended.

  • @Terra148 Oh how I wish I could have been there!!

  • Those were the days. What a show and what a band.

  • What an amazing piece of music from an amazing band!!! Who else could start a song with the line. "Where are the tears that you should be crying right now..."?

  • Many thanks for posting.

  • Never thought I'd see a live version of this song; one of my favorites from the band.

  • er - it's not live

  • Doesn't sound like the album version and they do *seem* to be performing it "live" in studio and not as individual parts mixed together afterward.

I could, of course, be mistaken; perhaps it's a live studio performance which has been overdubbed. Care to elaborate? I'm curious.

  • Oh wait. Let me guess. You're remarking that - as it's recorded - it is inherently not "live".

Please tell me I'm mistaken. I thought pedantic trolling among those over the age of 12 was finally eradicated.

  • One of THE classic lps "Bursting at the Seams" See, the 70's weren't all that bad!

  • Thank you FairyQueen for posting this! I too stayed up late and was blown away; I then became a fan to this day.

Do you have 'Flying' which I think they also performed?

  • Incredible classic clip of a fantastic song!

  • This band has always given me a feeling of all the beauty in the world..........

  • Besser hätt ichs nicht sagen können...

  • Bursting at the seems.

    Thanks!

  • Magnificent song. One of my favorites on this album. thank you

  • 10*

  • remember stayin up to watch this actual OGWT -saw cousins and lambert 2 months ago- still awesome!

  • Fantastic! The Cousins/Lambert guitar duet is as brilliant as ever...and is that Blue Weaver on keyboards?

  • yummy yummy... thanks a lot.

  • Brilliant ! A unique double composition track from a unique band.'Tears' is one of the best showcases for Dave Cousins at his emotive best.

  • Thanks for posting this...amazing how Dave Cousins' voice has not changed at all in 30-some years!
