excellent! exactly..i've heard tell that the late bob monkhouse recorded pretty much everything in his time..so the idea that missing episodes of 'not only but also' might still exist in his collection is tantalising....

Yep, this is classic, and it's all Cook and Moore, not puppets. The BBC released better quality video of this on region 2 and 4 as part of the 'Best of What's Left of Not Only But Also' DVD which consists of 2 hours of stuff they salvaged. Has original version of 'Bo Dudley' which is amazingly similar to the one which eventually popped up on the first Derek and Clive album over 20 years later.

It's Peter Cook's impersonation of The Hood that kils me every time! It's exc-ell-ent! I watched this as a kid and it had me crying with laughter then. It still does 40+ years later!

yes to get it to upload i converted it to crappy cell phone format..but yep its people pretending to be puppets..in fact thses comedians were two of the best in UK..

I love those guys. Did you hear BBC would re-use their tape. So they taped over this entire show. Cook tried to stop them by offering to buy tape, then offering to replace to tape, but the bureaucracy couldn't be circumvented and a lot of the show was taped over.

A real pity so much of this stuff got wiped (in the interests of BBC cost cutting - obviously a reel of tape cost more than the whole production budget of of these brilliant shows).

Now if only someone could find "It's Ludwig!" or "The LS Bumble Bee" and put it up on here. . . .
