  • One of my favorites, but I'm an old lady... love the Golden Age songs and singers....

  • The Bolton Brothers, a newer group. I've only been hearing of this group about 28 years. The "Williams Brother and Jackson Southernnaries are still around. Their style has changed to adapt to today's time. Thanks for bringing this music back.

  • Sadly, Joe, Cleve & Clay Graham, Spencer Taylor, Dorothy Norwood, Shirley Caesar and Percy are the last of the legions for the Golden Era of Gospel.

  • My mother's favorite song...

  • Thank you so much for returning this piece of my childhood church experience to me. You have no idea what it means to me to hear this again. I hope this blessing it returned to you a thousand fold.

  • @semnole Thanks for the update. So sorry for your loss. If I remember correctly he was proud to have come from Tyler, Texas. He sure could sing. I heard he passed several years ago. But wasn't nobody like him. We all knew him as Jimmy.

  • @semnole I would love to hear some of the stories that your dad could tell. I wish there was some Youtube video of Jimmy doing his thing with the Clouds. Maybe there is and I just can't find it.

  • Aint no harm in moanin it sometimes!

  • @3586065 The guy that takes over on the second lead of that song was Jimmy Jones. He was so powerful and died at an early age of cancer. I saw him perform back in the day with the Clouds in my area of Greenville South Carolina and I shall never forget him. Jimmy had a beautiful spirit about him and oh my Lord could that young man sing. You should hear him on When The Gates Swing Open, What A Friend, etc....he would mostly come in on the second lead after Joe. He and Joe made a great team

  • I used to love to hear my grandmother sing this song.

  • Old school gospel is the best.gjs

  • This is to Darneloh, it's obvious that you are not a gosple music lover or especially quartet singing; you could have kept your neg. comments about the legendary Joe Ligon. People like You sickens me. Get a life!!! Detroit

  • I'm sure there were at the Music Hall, that's what all the data says.

  • If you knew anything about Joe Ligon, he'd tell you that he wouldn't be caught dead in a nightclub. It was definitely at the Music Hall in Houston, which, by the way, was the home base of their record label at that time, Peacock Records.

  • I'm not a clouds fan at all anyway!!! I can really careless but I do know they have went to night clubs and sung. I know that and I know about Peacock Record company and Don Robey as well!!!!
