  • superman?

  • Why does Filipino makes such a big difference or Better than other race? Shock...it just shows poor judgement and limited knowledge!!!

  • Travis' response to the crappy questions are very fine. I still don't understand though many Filipinos comments here tend to claim everything their own (very possessive) such as Travis is half-Filipino or he is Filipino...who cares! It doesn't really matter...Travis is probably thinking he is not Filipino. It makes Filipinos weird and very possessive...it's a shame sometimes

  • it has its own vocabulary in their too...

  • hmmm take your clothes off

  • Oooh So Travis its nice to know a little more about you and where you come from! && Why is everyone fighting about the language of the phil? LOL

  • Man you are hot .

  • this video has nothing to do with the philippines.

  • yepp dats rightt, this vid doesnt have anything to do with philippines, iunno why ppls say that this video is related to philippinos.the only filippino thing bout dis is da interviwer...

  • travis is half filipino.

  • yeah i know, buh he this video doesn't have do do anything with filippines!

  • is he?

  • oh thats how he speaks tagalog?!

weird.. hahaha i was like "wtf.." when he was schooling me on teaching chicken adobo.

  • lol ang galing mo pare

  • Dr. Nolasco is indeed an authority about the issue but you may also be misconstruing what he said. I am sure he does not mean that Tagalog/Filipino is THE ONLY language only of the Philippines alone. What about the other 299 other languages? They are not dialects because they are not based on Tagalog. Since 1986 these "dialects" have been recognized as Philippine languages. The fact is Tagalog IS ONE of the languages in the Philippine lexicon. It is NOT THE ONLY language in the Philippines.

  • Mukhang nagkamiscommunicate tayo. My beef was that someone was attempting to delineate a difference between Tagalog and Filipino and not about the existence of other languages in the Philippines (something which I whole heartedly agree with). What I am saying was that Filipino is a standardized dialect of Tagalog from a linguistic perspective. From a legal perspective, Filipino is seen as a language but a legal perspective has no bearing on a scientific view.

  • I still believe in a healthy discussion and in treating everyone with respect. Asiaball, maniniwala na sana ako kaso turn off. . . Magbabasa na lang ako. . . Csundita, hayaan mo na, not worth it.

  • Oo nga, ang tagalog at Filipino ay iisang wika, tulad ng ilokano, ilonggo, bicolano, bisaya, kapampangan ay tinuturing na Filipino. Walang iisang wika ang Filipino dahil ang mga nabanggit kong wika ay hindi na kinikilalang dayalekto. Kilala kong personal si Dr. Nolasco, kung siya si Ricky Nolasco kasi estudyante ko siya sa UP noon.

  • csundita, hijo, get in touch with me and allow me the pleasure of explaining this to you. i see you are filipino-american. so i take it you grew up in the U.S. while i was in college in the University of the Philippines in the 80s when the parameters of Filipino were made.

  • Why do I detect a condescending tone from your message? I know what I am talking about. The Constitution says what it says as far as legal issues are concerned but it is not the final arbiter of linguistic issues. In reality, Tagalog and Filipino are one and the same. Ang chairman ng KWF (Dr. Nolasco) naman ang nagsabing (noong June 2007) ang Tagalog at ang Filipino'y iisang wika.

  • the interviewer seriously doesn't know what she's doing

  • theres some models....

    that are DOWN RIGHT UGLY.

    hahaha yes best quote ever

  • What is Tagalog a dialect of?

  • Sorry guys, Tagalog is also a language of which Filipino was derived from. Filipino being an official national language was designated in the 1987 Constitution. See other details in Wikipedia.

  • it's filpino. not tagalog. Common error.

  • Filipino and Tagalog are one and the same. Though, Filipino has been around for only 20 years and was created by politicians. Tagalog has been around for centuries. So guess which is the real deal?

  • csundita pwnd idontgeddit. lol!

  • tagalog is one of the languages of filipino. what used to be known as dialects is now considered filipino, a language.

  • Tagalog is *THE* only language of Filipino.

  • uhm, you are wrong. check the Philippine Constitution again, when it was amended in 1986. sorry, i was a professor at UP so i know.

  • I am fully aware of what the 1987 Constitution says. A Constitution could say that water comes from aliens, but it would still be wrong, would it not? I am talking about the reality here, not what a group of politicians were hoping to accomplish.

  • im srry

but theres actually more languages of us filipinos...

but there found in different provinces of the Philippines

Like Tagalog, theres also Illucano, Visaya, and Kampangangan

soo theres more languages and theres alot 2...

  • its me renier!!!!ya dats rite mathew!!!! my grandparents speak Visayan!!!! en my other grandpa speaks Pangasinan!!!!

  • Word. It's called "Dialect"

  • I can't believe that Travis Kraft, a half filipino guy, have a blue eyes!! coz it's very rare to have such blue eyes, if one of your parents is non european descent! amazing!

  • sexy things. LOL!

  • that girl wants to pounce on him lol

  • where was this shown? wazzup wazzup?

that travis guy is humble and speaks with sense.

and i heard he can even speak filipino

  • just to let you know, no one speaks filipino, they speak tagalog

  • Hmmm... I should check out the billboards more often...

Filipino, other than how you refer people of Philippine descent, is also the national language. Tagalog is another Philippine language. :)

  • Guys, just to straighten things out, our national language is called Filipino, which is mostly (if not entirely) derived from Philippine dialect called Tagalog (spoken by a majority of Central Luzon provinces and Metro Manila) with some influences from other Phillipine dialects and even Spanish.

  • Tagalog isn't a dialect. Though, Filipino is a subdialect of the dialect of Tagalog spoken in Metro Manila.

  • simple yet good video production...

    keep up the good work!
