I might be wrong, but I personally think she should have won an oscar for her performance in this movie, or atleast be nominated. This is not only her best performance in a movie (so far), but if you think about it, Beyonce had to step outta her comfort zone for this role. Though, she will never be like the original Etta James, She did an excellent job portraiting her. Bravo Beyonce!

In all seriousness this was a good entertaining movie. I just wish it had been a little more historically accurate. At this point Etta James was married with two kids but the movie has her on the verge of an affair with Chess. Then again I guess that's why these kinds of movies are "Based on a true story"... A lot of good performances in the movie but some of the little details kind of irked me.
