  • Ive been there. It is a rush when you win like that. I won tournaments that i was not supposed to. Talk about a major confidence builder....

  • why do they call it "my time" when the guy starts bleeding? where i'm from, they just called it "blood time"

  • broke my nose during a match. had tampons up there. Then my coach bashed me for them falling out! he says that it gave him a break! lol. I was in a semi final match during counties. Placed 5th that year.

  • Deal god have they ever heard of a single leg?

  • @badgerfan2674 you can't play wrestling.

  • This is simple....you hope, believe, and build up...or you don't. Are you a winner or not?

  • I told mah daddy tat i wanted to play wrastlin

  • The best part of that ending and thhey cut it off someboby is an idiot.

  • Damn that head n arm was SICK

  • Damn. Ive never seen a match that has this many people, not even a quarter as much people

  • I loved this movie. I met my gay life partner while doing wrestling and I know many gay people who found their life partners while wrestling in HS and college.

  • @walterreally thats fuckin bull shit

  • @walterreally STFU

  • @walterreally Jesus can set you free, remove the scales from your eyes, give you a beautiful wife, and when you die, you dont have to burn in hell, Jesus also has a plan for your life, like maybe after your saved you can go and tell all your gender-confused friends and maybe they too can turn their lives around.

  • @ElMeroChano I don't think Jesus is near the asshole you assume he is. Why would he give a wife to a gay man? That would be unfortunate for both parties.

  • Love this movie I watched it before all my state championships I won

  • Haven't seen this movie since I was in like 5th grade when i first started wrestling and wow this is a great movie, very inspiring. Heading to the first varsity tournament of the year this weekend, packing this movie along for the guys to watch at the hotel!

  • completely unrealistic

  • im sorry but at 6:30 he turns INTO the other guy not away from him, i learned that in 6th grade then he follows up by throwing one of the worst throws you could use agains a GOOD wrestler lol

  • @MrRichardNoggin iv seen plenty of great wrestlers thrown in an over under. But yea the turn in was prolly not his best move lol

  • i know wrestling and he knows nice moves.looks eesy but its not..trust me

  • Great movie, at 1:03 that girl standing on the upper deck that's Linda Fiorentino she played Dr. Laurel Weaver in Men in Black that woman will always be beautiful oh yea this movie has a kick ass soundtrack what the hell happen to movies like this?

  • "Done everything you came here to do?"

    "Not yet."

    Nice.

  • Ok this is my fav movie and I'm only like 13 I am a wrestler and this scene explains me in many ways because I have done that same exact throw during a national tournament in the quarter finals and told my dad at the end of that match that was a louden swain moment right there.

  • Wrestling is the toughest sport you can do in High School... maybe even in your entire life. Look at it this way... you play baseball you play basketball you even play football... but you don't play wrestling

  • @robzrx7 COULDN'T SAY IT ANY BETTER :)

  • @robzrx7 there is no such thing as you play wrestling, lol already shows how superior it is .You play other sports, and you Wrestle !

  • To my fellow wrestlers out there....How many of you had this scene pop in your head while wrestling at least once, cause it has happened to me....my regional finals match to be exact! NO JOKE!

  • Are you okay thon?

    Lol

  • Dont get me wrong i love this movie, but one time could we get real wrestlers who can wreslte to play the roles. seriously

  • way to slow paced to be a state champ at 168. maybe if he was heavyweight he could move like that and win but not at 168. which is not a weight class anymore

  • i probably would've been an all american if my school's marching band performed at my bouts

  • good movie but the wrestling is pretty sloppy

  • haha this was filmed where im from(;

  • i never get called for hittin double legs like that.... i fuckin smash people haha and im only 112

  • this video is garbage without lunatic fringe getting things started.

  • where the hell are the lower weights

  • @WTFwth436......... 60 to 90 pound weight class

  • ard doo okay sthon

  • these guys are in highschool throwing headlocks....

  • At 2:23 Louden should have taken a ride.

  • the in yellow is way bigger than him.

  • Louden is lousy on top...

  • this reminds me of my brother when he wrestled in 1984- 1987.the song and what he said about the people is true ,because it was me the saying was about!

  • damn this movie is the culminatiion of the 80s

  • That's Terry Davis sitting to the left of Mr Tanneran (Harold Sylvester), who was the author of the book "Vision Quest." Vision Quest was a great movie, but I think Roger Ebert said it best, when he said in his review that because it came after "a dozen other movies with essentially the same last scene, it's hard to care about the outcome of the big fight, or race, or match, because, let's face it, we know the hero's going to win."

  • por esta pelicula practique wrestling

  • @jorgewrestlerxxx disculpa como se llama la pelicula en español o como se puede conseguir en linea

  • 7-7

    lounden: ill take top

me: what the fuck are you doing!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MrMongolianMonkey I have no idea of wrestling, but this movie touched me.

  • 1:15 Funny, she doesn't LOOK Dru-ish!!

  • 1:15 Funny, she doesn't LOOK Druish!!

  • 1:25 I love wrestling, I honestly do. But sometimes it can look as gay as hell

  • @tomrichugpeltho .......and your point is???

  • No sport ever wanted to make me want to crawl in a corner with my forearms in knots and puke my guts out. I was terrible at it but it kept me in shape after football season.

  • those guys are not the same weight, shoot's bigger... a lot bigger

  • There is no way someone can lose 22 lbs in a couple months and have the strength to beat the #1 guy in the state who's never lost. A very good film but far fetched. I hear a remake is in the works. Hopefully they will change it up a bit and make it a little more believable.

  • @goatalope well supposedly louden's really talented and he did get really lucky

  • @goatalope he would have maximum strength assuming he lost mostly fat

  • @goatalope You ever watched MMA (UFC)? It is possible.

  • @goatalope The whole point of the movie was having a "far fetched" goal. If Louden would have stayed satisfied with his own success, he never would have found all of the things that he did in the movie. Ordinary stories are common; we like the watch the extraordinary stories.

  • @goatalope bro losing 22 lbs in a few months is nothing. but i agree it would affect your strength. however some people can do it

  • I always preferred to do a double-leg ride once I got behind my opponent... but most of the time, I could get 'em with a fireman's carry, arm-hip throw or other throw. Gosh, how I miss the sport.

  • put ur fuckin head gear on swain ...he wouldn't had anything for shoote ...tech

  • i had a thing for Linda Florintino back then...great memeories..Ohhh the 80's...

  • @thechuck22 not true, I have long hair and I wrestle and my headgear has never come off once, even in a tough match were my opponent head hunts,

  • 1:06 ear to ear is queer

  • there is no greater feeling than after you pin someone, you can't catch your breath, your family, all of your team mates, and you girlfriend and screaming at the top of their lungs, and you take off you ankle color and the reff raises your hand, wrestling truly is the realest sport.

  • @RsPansies I almost forgot about that. It's been 30 years since I went on the mat & stuck somebody. I miss the practices, the activities we did, the running along the river, the rugby, the barbecues, etc.

WWE has nothin' on the REAL deal. I miss it. I never saw as many people at any of the matches in wrestling as you saw in Vision Quest but I appreciate everyone that showed up to our matches.

  • @incdogrobber

Yeah, Vision quest is a great movie, we watch it every year on our way down to states. 12 mats going and probably 3 times the amount of people you see here. No other sport gives your quite the feeling in your stomach as wrestling.

  • @RsPansies never had a girlfriend but I've done a flip or two. angered the coach but that's how I expressed my joy. I still do after all these decades despite the military service injuries.

  • @RsPansies are you still in high school? what weight class did/do you wrestle? i was the manager of my high school's varsity team as an eighth grader (that was the 2001-2002 season)...it was pretty cool, especially since even now, i seem to be the only girl who can talk intelligently with her guy friends about wrestling. and i actually saw this movie for the first time during that season...good times :)

  • i only wrestled for 12 years from kindergarden to dienor year and we ran more than the track team

  • 9 -13, 24 seconds, starting in ref. position and winning by pin. Uhhh, I don't think so, specifically at 168 lbs. Besides, his headset would never stay on with his hair that long. Other all that, it was a pretty good movie if you enjoy the totally unbelievable.

  • @TheChuck624 actually i had a team mate do it in 6 my freshman year its unlikely but possible. He hit a stand up and the kid kept driving forward and he launched him and he just gave up giving the pin

  • the first one was a head and arm. trust me. i used em all freshman year. wrestling is probably the toughest sport to train for. i am one. lol

  • No its an over under

  • This movied was filmed... in bed.

  • Is John Cena Legendary a remake of this?

  • what the take down or arm throw called in the end

  • @McnairWrestler140bls head and arm

  • The score and reffing calls were completely wrong throughout the match. Shoot got 2 for the breakdown!

  • No takedown. Your down. lmfao

  • WRESTLING IS the realist sport out there it will never die!

  • 7 to 7 and he chooses top? I would have flipped a shit if I was his coach.

  • This is what its about!

  • Love Vision Quest, even more now that I understand Wrestling

  • Comment removed

  • @LIGHTRONIX too bad it's a wrestling movie huh faggot. Take your swimming shit outta here pussy.

  • I swear no one understands how hard wrestling is unless you've actually done it. Especially if you cut weight, it forces you to become so mentally tough im so glad my dad got me into it I just hope it doesnt die down cause I want my kids to wrestle too

  • @iolpikj Wrestling is hard. It's my first year wrestling and probably it'll start getting easier every year, but I love wrestling no matter how hard it is. I always thought wrestling was gay and whack, but when I joined the wrestling team in my school, I loved it.

  • @EdOwnz wrestling isn't easy at all.

  • @iolpikj I wrestled and coached, I have 3 girls... :( ....but I am driving to columbus tomorrow morning to watch my nephew in the state tournament...: ) 215 lb senior -chizzled from stone - and wrestles like a light-weight - all takedowns.

  • that match was so wack

  • fuck it be so legit f this many people came to the duals at our school

  • Great movie great book im a senior wrestling 30 minutes from spokane i can see his pain this is not an easy sport. He has my respect.

  • The audience isn't excited enough when he wins. They should be freaking the F out

  • BASKETBALL GETS IN THE WAY OF EVERYTHING! And wwe is fake this is real.

  • They should make a Judo movie

  • This film has been the theme of our high school swim team this year. Vision Quest.

  • great wrestlers go to the ufc and other mma mixed martial arts promomtions and thats the most pop sport on the planet and thats a fact

  • i know a guy who made himself throw up just to stay a same weight granted he was a state champion as a freshman , sophmore , junior and senior and a great college wrestler as well . ITS CRAZY HARD TO WRESTLE BUT THE BEST SPORT EVER ! I wrestle and its amazing there is a video of me wrestling on my account please comment and subscribe

  • i know a guy who made himself throw up just to stay a same weight granted he was a state champion as a freshman , sophmore , junior and senior and a great college wrestler as well . ITS CRAZY HARD TO WRESTLE BUT THE BEST SPORT EVER !

  • Oh yeah. This movie got it right. All Shute had was intimidation and braun. Louden had instincts, anticipation and BALANCE. A great wrestler can make a stronger wrestler use his own strength against himself. I'll take instincts, anticipation and especially balance over mucles any day.

  • I played baseball in college and ran wind sprints. I played basketball in HS and for the UCSB's Goucho's pickup team. We ran ladders until we threw up. Football was relatively easy if you were already in shape. Wrestling is HARD. Until you've tried to drop 2 weight classes in just over a week you'll never know. Trying to keep your strength while starving yourself is very difficult. The Vision Quest sound track was great; Only the Young and Lunatic Fringe were great workout songs.

  • @TzeSiR21Aek Pro Basketball players wouldn't last a week in our mats

  • Meet tomorrow, need to get pumped.

  • Brian Shute was in real life Frank Jasper who was a U.S. Marine and a wrestler

  • @caseyshattuck Once a Marine always a Marine.

  • @hilltopsgangstas Semper Fi "Do or Die"

  • Inspiring movie. Alot of great high school sports movies in the '80s

  • 3 head and arm attempts, 2 of which were successful? fuck that, head and arm is the shittiest move ever

  • anyone notice he said no takedown then he went down???

  • Training at the olympic or pro level for any sports is the hardest physical thing you could do.

Michael Phelps, Or Kobe probably trains just as hard as any Olympic wrestler.

I myself am A wrestler, I just feel like I have to make this point.

  • @Badlogic2 HIghly doubt it. In wrestling there is no 5 man team or shit like that. It's just you and the other guy in a mat in front of a bunch of people. This sport like any other combat sport is so tough because the mental part.

  • @Badlogic2 I wouldnt say so Kobe might be as dedicated but to say he trains as hard as an Olympic wrestler is pushing it. Thats like saying Basketball is as hard as Wrestling. I'd say that if you're going to compare any other Olympic athlete to a wrestler it would have to be a boxer and I'd say even that is pushing it.

  • Although its the better of the 2 movies based on wrestling, it sucks due to the fact theres barely any real wrestling involved. My team used to get pumped watching this before districts, but the actual wrestling part makes no sense, still enjoy the shit out of it though.

  • The ref is Cash Stone. He was supposed to be Lowden Swain's coach in the movie. Legendary Washington State coach and amazing guy....

  • Washington State wrestling...DON'T SLEEP ON US!! We're coming up!!!

  • REF signals "no takedown" yet Louden goes down into referee's position...huh?

  • we wrestle for pride, not for fame or glory, we do it for us.

  • I don't get it. If he didn't get the take down at 1:10. Why'd he make the other guy start on bottom?

Aw well. I guess I'm reading into it too much.

  • im a high school wrestler whose been wrestling for 5 years. wrestling is the toughest sport in high school. if it were easy everyone would do it

  • @Paulieboy20 If wrestling was easy, it'd be called basketball..

  • I wrestled in High School...we were really lucky. We had crowds like this at every match. Standing room only, place exploded when you pinned the guy...damn those were good times.

  • started wrestling today

  • a coming of age tale that puts Catcher in the Rye to shame.

  • i just joined my wrestling team at my high school

    im pumped!

  • gotta love that head and arm at 1:07

  • Damn I wish the crowd at my school's wrestling match were this big. My school is only good at wrestling and yet we have low attendance and our football team SUCKS(they just won their first game last year in over 6 years!) and yet we(my wrestling team) barely gets any support...If you were to walk into our gym and see our trophy cabinet it would say Wrestling all over it, what a shame.

  • apparently crowds used to be like that back in the day for wrestling. now a days you get only family watching with a small mix of friends.

  • koscheck vs gsp XD

  • i feel old now

  • LMHS JV 142

  • wrestling is the hardest thing physical possible

  • WTF? I'm so fuckin' angry right about now. I was hoping to catch some of Linda Fiorentino's sweet ass but instead I've had to sit through that bullshit. Almost 10 mins of some crazy, homo-erotic soft porn celebration. What a crock!

  • @CnutRexAnglorum man get a life. if you wana see porn go to a porn cite. this requiters actual feelings

  • @CnutRexAnglorum

Get a life you perverted loser. This is a video about wrestling, not a cheap porn flick. If you think that this is homoerotic, then you're probably just insecure about your masculinity anyway.

  • @CnutRexAnglorum you are my hero. Props on an awesome troll post.

  • Pretty cool little movie other than the rape scene I don't approve of that at all.

  • at 5:44 to 5:56 song and movie go together so well i wanna cum on a goose. classic wrestling feeling!!!!

  • @ihateScrubzz hahahahaa

  • whats the name of the song at 4:15? and 550

  • whats the name of the song at 4:15?

  • they make his bloody noise out to be so much worse than it is?? but still a great match

  • It is 12:54 am pacific time as I type this and I am watching Vision Quest on Encore Drama channel. One of my favorite movies off all time. Plus I live about 100 miles from Spokane. Nice.

  • FBI statistics say about 90% of fights that occur end up on the ground, so the guy or gal who knows the ground game is almost everytime going to be victorious. Grappling/Wrestling is the best, when I was 25 my AOL screen name was Louden Swain, my friends called me Swain. I thought it was spelled Laouden with an a though, haha. Louden Swain, FTW!

  • @N1k1mon i agree about 90% end on ground. however in a fight u can bite, eye gouch, pull hair, etc. i would do whatever it takes to survive in a fight. im 41 and haven't been in one since grade school. point is if i get in 1 now it's for blood if need be. this is for glory here. that said this is 1 of my fav movies.

  • I got into jiu jitsu and Greco roman wrestling, toughest GD sport in the world, every fiber of every muscle being uses at full force almost 100% of the time, the juice just gets sucked out of your body, your fuel, you have to be in such great shape to even begin to think about winning a match. This is not to mention the skill, agility, timing, planning ahead 3 moves, etc.

  • can anyone tell me the name of the wrestling movie where the guy needed a certain song to wrestle well? It was either from the 70s or early 80s

  • i like how the ref. didn't say anything at 5:57 about it being belly then elbow

  • @mikeyt24na Im pretty sure the order for refs position was different back then

  • @lacrosseguy23 yeah it was it make alot more sense now that then

  • they should make more movie of Wrestling Movie

  • @ RightWinger82-i made an account just to get into this convo, i totally agree with you, wrestling is a sport that takes sacrifices. both of my brothers do football and they tried going through my wrestling training and they say its a lot harder than what they do, so ev125 you can kiss my ass...

its a lot harder for girl wrestlers to get any recognition around here..

btw.. check out this wrestling song, -- the realest sport by tp & esco.. can't find it on youtube tho...

  • Best part of the movie

  • It's kind of weird to think of this but my mom was an extra during this scene. We still live in Spokane to this day

  • Comment removed

  • so much cooler with the vuvuelas ha

  • wrestling is sooo GAY!!

  • @ev125 Then why you watching it you fucking fudge packing faggot? FAAAAAG!!!!!!

  • @ev125 I called you a fag. Just remember that you fucking dumbass! You're a fag.......dot com.

  • your a fucking fag i would like to see you wrestle me you get your ass kick and see me walk off with your gf while you lay there and cry like a little bitch. FAGGOTT!!!!

  • I can't think of one good reason why when you're tied going into the third you would pick top.

  • And...rightwinger82 again ;) This is my homestate...Washington! We're coming up! We're far far far behind Iowa, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania...but we're getting better.

  • Sucks that they did a crackdown with cutting weight nowadays in the U.S., so that noone can do something as epic and fatal as cut 34 pounds like Laudon did. Oh well, at least they allow us to do those sweet moves on the mat.

  • @icepic21 When I was a freshman in high school(I'm now a Junior) there was this senior who weight like 124 pounds, he dropped all the way to 103. Not 34 pounds, but still a lot.

  • Hrmmm, did any of posting before me notice this was a movie not a documentary...It was made for entertainment . I grew up in this time , The movie is about growing up with goals! While you may be correct about the incorrect things in wrestling the fact remains, it's a movie ! A damn good movie, I might add !!

  • I think its a bit odd how when Lowden went out and the ref called no takedown the scoreboard still gave him the 2 for the takedown.

  • "out of bounds, no takedown." then louden is down and shute is up...did they cut something out?

  • Im not a wrestler, but I love this movie because it applies to life in general. When life gets us down, all we can do is dig deep inside ourselves and do our damndest to make our dreams come true... We cant change the world, but we can change ourselves

  • This movie has way many mistakes to be a realistic wrestling movie, but it always gets me pumped up for the next wrestling season i watch it every summer

  • I always like this movie.

  • With the amount of time that he had, the most he could've got was 3 near fall points which would've sent the match into overtime.

  • @swaoh43 that would've given him 5 points in total including the takedown and nearfall making it 14-13 so he would've won without the pin

  • @swaoh43 An escape or a reversal and then a near fall would of caused him to win :)

  • the escape, takedown and near fall should of been enough to win... did he need to pin ?
