Obama is ok with me. I have heard many black pastors preach similar sermons and that did not make me a racist. I knew that he was validating the ongoing experiences of many in his congregation. That is part of the function of the black church. One good thing about Obama being a serious presidential candidate is that the anti-American, anti-white inflammatory rhetoric that has gone too long without any real scrutiny in churches like this will hopefully diminish. African Americans that want to pursue a political life outside black demographics will now see that they can't be associated with it and expect it to be acceptable.
