Lol Says who? Are you talking about average? The mean, mode, or median? And how big of a pool of data/ people are you polling from? Cuz science can't tell us what is "normal" only averages in a limited data pool. Normal is a subjective term made up by irrational people to describe people who look, talk, and behave like themselves. And morality comes into it when people use their limited definition of normal to impose laws, rules, restrictions ect on people who do not fit in their mold.

I'm on Concerta XL 27mg - this is Methylphenidate.. it is different from speed.. but the difference in spelling is more extreme than in chemical.

it IS addictive. i have suffered from withdrawel going from the 3-pills-aday to these 1 a day slow release ones.

It is safer for adults, basically: the health risks are less, the bigger you are (i do not mean how fat you are! lol). but because it hasnt been tested alot for adults, many doctors stop prescribing it when kids grow up..

By not being treated as a child I turned to speed to cope in my adult life. This is cleared up now for the most part but im on meds now and if i was when i was a child perhaps i wouldnt of chosen illicet drugs as a choice in my youth. everyone is different i guess

im saying that anyone who compares a doctor prescribing medication to a drug dealer is stupid. doctors use science and they do not get you "hooked". that is in your head. they give you medicine that they believe will relieve your symptoms. using words like "legal speed" and "hooked" and "pushing drugs" is unfair, biased, uneducated, and manipulative.

The more I read your comments, the more your intelligence shines through! Obviously they didn't medicate you early enough, so that you were able to interact and learn appropriate social skills.

If you got "hooked" that is your issue. I have used all kinds of drugs both legal and not. The responsibility is always with the user to be informed and conscious. If you lack those skills, well that is your problem. Don't go slamming doctors and aligning prescription meds with speed.

"Speed" is methamphetamine. ADHA treatment is usually dextroamphetamine (or Ritalin). So they are not the same thing. A low dose of dextroamphetamine has show to provide a low dose stimulatory response to the brain. This allows the user to maintain focus on less stimulating (aka normal) tasks.

Some people are allergic to peanuts some are not, some respond to antidepressants, some don't. Don't think everyone is the same. The medication may work fine for other people.
