  • I have a 15 year old cat that I'm thinking of getting a little "daughter" for. Chloe (the 15 year old) has been through a lot lately, with the addition of 3 dogs and moving. Do you think its too early to get a new kitten? And on top of that, she's deaf...so I don't know how to introduce them...

  • I have a 2 1/2 year old cat who was been living with us since she was 3 months old. She has been the only animal in the house. She is very quiet and likes to be alone. On Sunday we adopted a 6 month old boy kitten. He is very outgoing and loves attention. We have kept the new kitty in a bedroom with the door shut. Our older cat comes up to the door and growls while the kitten is hissing. I'm afraid the kitten will run out the door when someone is entering or leaving his room. Any tips on how to

  • my cat and my dog grew up together and they're best friends! its so weird, they even groom each other

  • So i just keep her in my room.

  • My dog lived with a cat before and the cat didn't really care... But.. That cat ran away so we got a new cat. And when my cat saw my Big black dog.. She started to hiss. And my cat was a stray we brought her in after a few weeks of her walking outside our house.

  • I got a new cat. She likes my dog until she gets up close! Then she runs away.

  • my dog and cat wer best frands until i got another dog......

  • My cat is 9 years old, and has bean living with us for 5 years. She is very territorial, and gets jealous when other pets are around. She lives with hamsters and fish, and never had a problem. My friends lab came to visit, she was just scared. Before, she would pee everywhere, because of territory. I want to adopt a new huge dog, and I dont want to make it a stress for them two, any ideas? My cat is very patient, and is great with kids, and she used to live with 15 other cats, will she be fine?

  • i have a 2 yr old chiuaua and a 2 yr old cat. we had gotten our first cat a few months after our dog and they get along just fine. our cat isnt very loveable and i think our dog gets lonely. we dont want another dog so we got a kitten. but im afraid our cat will not like it AT ALL. i dont want the cat to run away!! im really hoping the cats will get along! we introduced our dog and kitten already. it went ok but not the best. wonder why? the dog should be used cats already!

  • my cats hate each other when one ges to kitty litter the other waits on top to scratch it they are evil

  • i'm bringing a kitten home in two weeks, i cant leave it in my room with me with the door shut because my dogs will smell it & scratch the door & get even more hypo then they would. my dogs LOVE other animals abit to much, so the thing im worried about is just their hyponess. one of my dogs is abit big, & they both jump everywhere & could possibly accidentally hurt the kitty. so i really dont know what to do, i want the kitty to get used of the house first but thats just not gonna happen :[

  • great LoL, now i just need a dog...and a cat :/

    ;)

  • I had my cat for 6 years. He's very calm, loves people. Since we basically raised him from birth, he's had little to no experience with other cats. However, we decided to get a new cat anyway, thinking our old cat was a little lonely. We brought home a rambunctious kitten who settled in very quickly. He was in love with the old cat but my old cat hated him from the start. But you just have to be patient. After months of avoiding each other and fighting, they became great friends.

  • got three - two months ago a new kitten, someone put her in a box beside my sister's work and she brought it home - my dog was kinda excited since she loves kittens for some reason (she don't act the same with puppies) but the kitten was mean to her for awhile (until she adapted) but now my dog don't want anything to do with the new cat and growls at the kitten when she(kitten) tries to play with her(dog), I think, my dog feels insulted or something.

  • @Shiroari Your dog could be jealous. I'm not an expert or animal psychologist or anything, but your family dynamic has changed. Especially if your dog was getting alot of attention before and now whenever the visitors come over they head straight for the cat. Also if the dog is older, it might just not be interested in playing as much as the kitten wants to... Or your dog could just be elitest.

  • @57worldwide the dog is oldest pet in the household right now but we have also 2 years old cat, he and the dog are really mellow with each other and my dog likes to groom him - maybe becuase he was less active kitten and didn't tried to attack her ears all the time.

anyway, the kitten is already month bigger and she gets along much better with the dog in the sense my dog don't growls at her when she(the kitten) tries to play with her - we came to conclusion that our dog is like a grumpy grandma

  • @Laneperson,@howdidniguru I am having the same problem, MY Cat Loki is very compassionate and lovey dovey, And I brought a new cat home named Maggie, and she isn't very accepting of Maggie. She is hissing and Growling. My cat Maggie is hiding under my box spring.. Hasn't come out for 2 days.

  • i had a golden retrever dog named madison and a maincoon cat named buddy they loved each other soo much they would sleep together and play together (good thing they were both old at the time so they were not very active) but when madison died we became a big old grump like that old man from UP and he hates my new dog winstion (he is a cocker spaniel mixed with a poodle) i guess he thinks we tryed to replace madison with some idiotic dog who cant even play fech without him stopping halfway

  • I have an adult male chihuahua that is only use to being around dogs. My girlfriend wants to have her adult female cat move in and meet my dog. I understand the isolation in the room but what about my dog going up to the door at times and maybe barking because he smells her under the door? I have a crate we will use and 3 baby gates but I'm guessing if he accidentally gets to her room door that it'll lessen the chance of her wanting to even come out. Someone please help! Sorry for long msg

  • i have a two year old ginger cat called Jaffles and i bought myself a kitten called Kona. when i introduced Kona to jaffles he hissed and growled and ever since then he's been going outside all day until morning which makes me worried because Jaffles usually only spends a few hours outside and it makes me feel that he is jealous and unwanted and that scares me because i have feelings that he will run away!

  • i have a pug

    a min. dovermen

    and a pikaness

and i havent showed them the cat yet..im scared of what will happen

  • Ive got a 17 year old cat who is trying to get over the death of her sister who pasta few months ago and just got a boxer/bulldog mix puppy, The puppy is super mellow and doesnt bark but does walk towards the cat and the cat inturn hisses and goes crazy. i dont want to make the cat go crazy because she is 17. How do i get them to get along? can i? someone help. im also getting a new kitten during christmas if you have to say anything about that. thank you

  • So, at 2:22 they are introducing two cats through a glass pane with holes in it. Is the black and white cat acting aggressively, or is it excited to see another cat and wanting to play with it? At times it looked aggressive, but at other times it looked like it just wanted to play or cuddle with the cat that was being held. I'm trying to research this issue as we are wanting to adopt a second cat. (Spayed female). Any answers and advice are greatly appreciated!!!

  • This was not helpful at all! My new cat is perfectly fine with my old one, it's my old cat that's upset! And yet he is fully grown and has shared a house with three cats previously! He's usually so sweet tempered! I can't understand why he's so mad!

  • Hey, I have a problem i need someone to make a video or explain me something. I Really want to have a cat but im not sure if its a good idea cuz once i meet a new animal and get use to it i Start loving them like my Best Friend, And i would not like to watch my cat get murderd in the street by a Dog.!! ='(

  • umm in the video they said that a dog thats older and have lived with plenty of cats has no prob with new cats but we have a dog thats 11 years old and he has been lived with several cats befoire and i have 3 cats atm one is 7 years one is 1 year old and the youngest is like 4 months+old but the dog seems to have a bit problems with the 1 year old cat he gets along with 7 year old cat and we have not let the youngest cat out alone sorry for long comment :D

  • What do you think would happen if I brought a kitten home? I have a puppy chihuahua, and im getting a kitten .Do you think they would fight?

  • my dog has been around a cat we had b4 and they were fine together but that one had to go and now 11 years l8r we got a new cat... but the thing is the dog dsnt mind the cat but the cats fur goes up and he steps away even tho hes already 5 metres away from the dog... so we're still trying to show the cat that the dog isnt much of a threat... and they say it shud always be the dog being introduced to the cat not the other way round.

  • @catloverzfilms stfu bich

  • my grandparents have 2 big dogs and I want them to get a cat.....but my grandma (who wants a cat too) is afraid that Andy and Copper will go crazy around the kitten..... and that the kitten will kill snakes and bring them in and kill the birds and other things in their yard..... and that if the cat would scratch the leather couches and lazyboy.....or tear up the curtains do you have any tips on how I could prevent that? oh and this video did not help me at all! =(

  • This does nothing to actually help. They seem to wanna tell you how to test your pets compatibility. Also creating barriers is a small help. In our case we've got stairs so the kitten can't climb up them which creates our houses barrier. The older cat is scared of the kitten and retreats to upstairs when she wants a time out. But this "Dr" didn't offer any real "meaty" advice. What if you've ALREADY got the new cat. Hmm... keep looking...

  • my cat is new born and my dog is 2 yrs old and they get along well

  • my cat is about like 2 years old and is gonna have to live with another cat about a year younger than her. ( my brothers cat is the younger one ) . i tryed to introduce them today but my cat ( which is the 2 year old) hissed and growled at my brothers cat. is it just cuz she thinks its only her territory or cuz she might be jelous? or shes not use to being around younger cats?

  • Ok but what about if you got the first cat from the outside where she was a stray and around other strays? Would that cat get along with another one?

  • i have a pic of my cat curled up with my dog sleepingn and it i cute : )

  • mY CAT HAD AN old old partner cat they moved and left her, she has been w/ me 4 7 years would she welcome a new kiten?

  • @dancergirlmh i think you should do this

    1. Put the kitten in a cage.

2.take ur big cat to the cage.

3.Let them interact. only interrupt if there is hissing.

4.If there is hissing, after approx. 2-4 weeks they will get along

sources: i have 3 cats and a kitten, i had to go through this..

  • @weavile102 Thanks :)

  • MY husky and cat dont get along how can i get them to stop

  • ah man, i cant stop stressing about the cat at 0:34

  • I have 2 dogs, 2 cats and 2 parrots. They get along great. The key is to show everyone that they are loved.

  • :)) It's because I love animals too much and because I can afford it

  • Why were you born? i meen WTF

  • I have two cats and a wife so I'm waaaay fucked up.

  • before when i introduced my new dog to my cat my cat tried to scratch the dog. the whole week my cat bullied the dog and one day the dog growled.

    then they became best friends.

    thats messed up.

  • @lolz1666666666666 I'm not sure but maybe because the dog growled and stood up for itself the cat realised the dog was not going to tolerate being a scratch post anymore and developed more respect for the dog? Growling is just a warning and means the same thing in cat laguage as in dog, it isnt like the dog was really being aggressive, it was probably more like him shouting "Enough!!" at the cat.

  • @lolz1666666666666 i think the dog said " I WON'T TAKE YOUR CRAP ANYMORE I WANTED TO BE FRIENDS! " :D

  • totally acted out. they were shot at different times, they aren't looking at each other when they're talking. probably even two different rooms.

  • I have a jack russel about 2 yrs old...we just got a kitten (7 weeks)I made mistake of introducing on the 1st day and my jack tried to sneak a bite on her and now (2 weeks later she hisses like crazy at him when I bring him in, also he shakes pretty bad too like he wants to get hold of her?????

  • hey....i need help! I have a white cat, and she is very timid! She used to live with a dog and she wouldn't come downstairs! We are hoping to get a Golden Retriever at the end of the year.. but I'm scared that my cat will not be friends with him/her at all and will run away and stuff like that! Do you think that is possible? Will it be possible for them to be friends?
