It pissed me off that just when Phoebe became powerful with her three powers (Premonitions, Levitation, and empathy) In addition to her martial arts skills, they took away her powers.... Ugh. I know levitation was expensive, but they could have taken away all of them at the beginning, and instead of just giving her back her premonitions, they could have given her back empathy also.
@Flareboxx You aren't the only one. I commented on one clip about Phoebe's powers! They could have taken levitation away but give her the premonition and empathy. She was rendered useless in the season finale.
@ChrizL7 I was kidding at the stupidity of removing of Phoebe's powers. There was no reason for Phoebe not to get her powers back earlier. Especially since they can just use CGI for Levitation instead of a crane, and they did it with bad guys.
I was annoyed that they took this power away from Phoebe in the same season she got it :( It fitted her character perfectly and made much more sense that levitation (don't get me wrong it looked cool, but it was pretty random). I love the idea of Phoebe as an empath, it just fits her.
i really loved the idea of this power, how its combined wiht her premonition powers. and how she can channel other peoples powers to use it against them, too bad when she lost her powers she didnt get this one back. would become in handy and funny as well later on in the show
@ddffghij One thing about empathy, it was always a part of her. Phoebe is a natural empath so she always had the power so long as she was a witch. She showed signs of it in season 1. And she showed signs of it again post Tribunal in seasons 7 and 8, so whether or not the actual power was taken away, it will always be a part of her until it grows and manifests itself into the power she gained in season 6. :)
@AngemonRulez I have never noticed that she always had it in her? And i cant seem to remember any particular episodes were she shows it in a obvious way, but what did you mean when you said in the post tribunal in season 7 ?
@ddffghij The episode that's on now The Power of Two, she has a premonition of an old lady being stabbed to death and she said she felt the pain of the lady in the vision. As early as season 1.
As for seasons 7 and 8, I know there were a couple of times, but one in particular was Gone With The Witches? Phoebe says she senses something evil behind the door and she was right. The was another instance in season 7 but I am drawing a blank at the moment.
@AngemonRulez i remember that one from season 1, and the one from season 8 too!!! and i havent really thought if those examples being a leed thing to her empathy, but just more like an instinct if you catch my drift, cause all of the sisters had, had those feelings... like paige in Size matters, season 4 where she gets the creepy vibe from the house she passes by
@ddffghij Yep. I think the writers wanted to express that with an ability like empathy, they didn't want to give it to her and act as if its a random new power. Since shes psychic, they wanted to show that she had empathy from as early as the first year they received their powers.
Her gaining empathy in season 6 was simply a manifestation of that ability until it was strong enough for Phoebe to consciously use on her own. :) It will always be apart of her.
@raunchy85 Phoebe's always been an empath. She's demonstrated this ability as early as season 1 feeling the emotions of those in her visions. I'm just sad it took them 6 years to fully develop it into its own power.
@raunchy85If Phoebe got her empathic power back in the finale season she could have deflected the Triads fireballs right back at them through a direct thereby killing one of them right on the spot. Considering that it was certainly easier than Paige orbing the Triad guy in front of the fireball so that when Piper restarted time it would kill one of them.

Phoebe is basically the most powerful of the Charmed Ones basically because:
-Premonitions allow her to predict and avoid here enemies' attacks.
-Her Empathy powers allow her to copy and throw other people's powers right back at them.
-Plus she knows kung fu.
And Piper, Prue and Paige usually rely more on their powers than Phoebe.
