No matter how you define "friend" (I believe most people would specify your definition as "close friends" and I also believe most people won't interpret "keep talking to" as litterally) excluding people from your friend circle because you have the notion that religious people of ANY KIND don't think clearly then fine by me, it's just crazy - certainly not normal. Islam will become a religion of peace once Muslims stop taking it so seriously. Islam will become a religion of peace once Muslims stop taking it so seriously. Unfortunately at this rate, that's not going to happen for another 1000 years: when we are all living on other planets because we will destroy the Earth's environment. Sure, there will be a New Israel/Palestine/Mecca, but people won't take as seriously in the future.
In the mean-time, I'll make sure I will never travel farther than places like Japan, Australia, and Eastern Europe.

Or "A jew stabbed 2 in the chest...." Like I don get why when a muslim kills people act as if its the only murder committed on this planet??? @pearl7175 The distinction is that the Christian and the Jew probably weren't doing it in the name of their religion--there are rare exceptions--whereas a great many of the atrocities commited by Muslims certainly were inspired by their religion. In that instance it is entirely correct to identify the religion involved. (Can you honestly expect van Gogh's death to be reported without Islam being mentioned?)

Do not take life, which Allah has made sacred, except through justice and the law. He orders this so that you may acquire wisdom" (6:151). According to the Qur'an, killing a person unjustly is the same as killing all of humanity, and saving a person is the same as saving all humanity. (See 5:32.)

Since he lived under Sharia law, frequented the El Tawheed Mosque, and openly declares himself to be a Muslim, I think I’m justified in regarding him as a Muslim. Are you agreeing with me, in that the Crusades have been clearly identified in history as having been motivated by religion (thus supporting my thesis that Muslims are not being singled out when their religion is cited), or are you saying something else?

The 1984 plot to blow up the Dome of the Rock, was clearly identified with “Jewish extremists” and “Jewish zealots”.
These examples—the only two I even needed to look up—show that when religion was part of the motivation this was identified by the media, regardless of the religion involved. So Muslims are not being singled out.
