I met Jeff and Roland Ratzenberger at Le Mans , early 90's where the shared a Toyota TS 010, 4 names on the door of the Group C car, 2 now gone, R.I.P Jeff/Roland
Sad to watch this replay and see the name of Greg Moore in this race, as well as Zanardi´s... an accident can happen at anytime, unfortunately. RIP Greg and Jeff Krosnoff.
Although I was a little boy when this crash happend, my dad watched this race live. He was saddened just watching this fatal crash and worse yet was that we live near Toronto. I went to see the IZOD Indycar race at Toronto this year and Jeff Krossnoff came into my mind. Im not sure if there is some sort of memorial near the track but if there was, id pay my respects.
@QuitAlready This year's IndyCar race at Toronto coincided with the 15th anniversary of Krosnoff's death. SpeedTV.com had a really good three-part article about him (they promised a fourth part, but I've yet to see it).
I watched this race live on tv, cheering for Adrian Fernandez who ended up on winning the race, however I did not have anything to celebrate after the crash I was in shock. R.I.P. Jeff Krosnoff and Gary Arvin.
@goodwilltubing Gilles Villeneuve's was an asshole he was out of control to get lap records and die stupit in practices ,,dont fucking speek if you dont know fuck about the man
Don't be angry. I agree, I don't know much about Gilles, but you have to admit that he was one of the best of his time - and that requires to be crazy in those unsafe cars - and no one deserves to die like he did.
@uhfnutbar1 I actually know lots about Gilles, and his driving style is still considered among to top ten of all time. Don't speak if you don't know. He was a romantic, and a great personality. He will always be remembered as such. Don't slam legends.
@uhfnutbar1 shut you dont know shit, dont play the angry little boy for nothing, Gilles died during qualifications, he was doing his hot lap when he reached Jochen mass who was slowing down cause his qualification lap was over , they misunderstood each other when gilles tried to pass him jochen moved in his way trying to leave him the good driving line resulting in the crash. Plus he was the only person to die that day
can you try making for some swedish racing heroes too? i know u got Ronnie Petterson, but i was thinking about others, liek oen who got killed in an Speedway accident
in racing things happen in a blink of an eye ..johansson and other drivers like trulli remembering the incident of kubica in formula one....should stop doing this change of line that they re used too....sometimes that move cost a life
i didnt get what happened... at 1:27 thats when the accident happened but the car broke in half but how the hell was someone in there already? unless some other guy crashed with him and got there
Those guys there were track marshalls to help at some accident. It was truly less safely to be in there, but I think safety was not that high like today in those days.
I don't know but think that such risky places to stay aren't allowed today.
i feel also that this was similar to gordon smiley.... except gordon only died from the wall colision.... but jeff did to. so its like marco campos in a way also cuz he hit the granite road i think.... keep up the work GWT
what i think happened was as soon as krosnoff's car colided with the other one, jeff had no chance of saving himself or gary arvin R.I.P jeff krosnoff... nice video also. by the way whats the song?
The music in the intro is some cut version of lux aeterna from clint mansell, and the music in the background of the video is the soundtrack from lost.
For all R.I.P. Jeff, Ignazio, Kieth, Dale, Elio, Gordon, Marco, Maia, JD, Paletti, Paul, Sachs, Wolfgang, Ronnie, and all F1 driver have fatal crash.

That must be hard. I think it is much harder to see racers die when you know them.
Even if it's already hard to see.

he allso hit a tree

I think all racers know this could be them when they get in the car, I don't think very many track workers imagine this could

And in the end, a lonely marshall sweeps the track... because the race must go on. Thanks to all the fallen drivers. We dearly miss you.

Hi f3wbs!
Sorry for late response, had much work to do!
First, I think you are right that Jeff had no chance to avoid this.
Second, the song is the soundtrack from "lost".
I thought it fits to the video.
Finally I wanna say thanks for the great interest in my tribute videos.
It's one of my goals to make respectful tributes for all the lost heroes of motorsport and that they will never be forgotten.
