i live in the netherlands and i really like your passion for bicycles! but i have to admit that i have a 8ball hogrider(lowrider) bicycle from america and a specialized p3 as well but i also have a opa fiets(grandfathers bike) as they call it in the netherlands but the most common bike is a oma fiets(grandma's bike) the black ones with the wheel covers etc. bikes here are usually faster than public transport and in the city usually even faster than cars because of the parking issues.
I have often wondered what the benefit of a cargo bike is over, say, a normal bike, with a trailer. You can put cargo and things in the bike trailer and you can disconect it from the bike when not in use. It is usually cheaper to get a normal bike and a trailer as well.
@KrunchyJD Stability! I have an Xtracycle and I've had a trailer, and the X , unless it's SUPER loaded or carrying a lot of liquid doesn't feel that different from a normal bike- for a Bakfiets, I'm sure it's much easier to keep an eye on the kids if they're riding in front versus the back.
In this case the handlebars need to be a little lower for her and angled down slightly. I want to buy one - but I'll have to wait until I move out of home. My dear mother is not at all impressed by my current collection of bicycles. (I'll have to get a Tandem too)

I think the Gazelle Cabby is more practical because you can fold the basket (or take it off completely if you want).
