Once this was done the car was quick. What I always felt about the car was it's point to point speed as it was fantastic under brakes, certainly better than anything at that time. This comparison against a 2004 Commo isn't really fair as its running injection and a 6 speed box. It's such a shame Holden doesn't produce the same sized body car , at that weight with a Gen 3 Block and 6 speed box, or drop them into a Torana and then make a comparison. I sold my A9X for $9000 , it was immaculate :(
I owned an A9X 4 door version and watched this live when it happened. He says there was 33 constructed, yes the race versions, then there was 99 hatches and 380 odd 4 door homologated road versions. The road version were completely 100% pollution converted 308 and to be honest I didnt think it was overly fast until I ripped the motor out and blueprinted the motor. Together with a M21 gearbox and the tall gearing which was 2.6. Once I changed it to a Super T10 box and put in 3.66 gearing.
I brought it and crashed it, dool! ma bad :)))
