There are 4 characters in this, they all resemble the Borderlands ones. The story in here is that they are code hunters, as opposed to Vault hunters. And most of the textures look EXACTLY the same. I thought Borderlands was an original creation.

I really don't understand this obsession with originality.

Originality does not automatically make something good, and unoriginality does not automatically make something bad.

Indiana Jones, for instance, is extremely unoriginal. Everything from the main characters clothes, to the whip he uses, to the searching for valuable artifacts, to the over the top action scenes.

All of these were directly lifted from action shorts of the past.

Indiana Jones, regardless, is a great movie series.

Besides, the head of Gearbox has stated that Borderlands was partially inspired and influenced by Codehunters so it's not really in debate.

I do gotta say, I respect Borderlands a lot less after watching this. Both are high-quality, but you can't say Borderlands is too original of a concept now.

Seriously, there's inspiration, such as TF2's resemblance to The Incredibles without being exact mirrors of each other, and there's just flat ripping something off. Borderlands isn't similar to this, it IS this.

It's a shame too, because now I wish Borderlands had gone a different direction, I want to see something sci-fi in this style.

There is a limit to inspiration. Taking small parts of something and incorporating it into your whole piece is inspiration. Taking the entire art style, opening sequence and some of the characters is not inspiration. That, my friend, is ripping off. Not to say that Borderlands is a bad game, I've completed it myself and liked it.

er okay this is a good achievement in terms of 3D production, but this is pretty bad...i mean it's just any other also-ran fantasy nonsense, a bunch of so cool blase superheros, all of which cover the bases of strongman, kid, mysterious ninja women etc., doing typical fantasy crap like killing a bunch of non-descript monsters, in a typical washed out neo-dystopia...this is really weak stuff. Accomplished 3D, yes, but from every other aspect - and for a 'short film' this is important - lame.
