While you're cleaning the first cage, you can totally see the rats in the other cage clinging onto their cage trying to get as close to you as possible X)
You're entertaining. I like it. :D Thanks for the video. Oh, and the cage on the left with the green tubing, do your rats ever squeeze out through the bars? I heard the bar spacing on that one is too big and best for ferrets not rats.... And haha at the rats eating the trashbag. Mine always try to do that. I one day woke up to them trying to make a Wal Mart bag nest. Not good.
Just handle your rat and pet it daily. Eventually it will get used to you. Don't worry about biting. Usually this only happens if you are poking your fingers in the cage and they think it is food or a frightening enemy OR if you have a nursing mother. Other than that they really don't bite. I have been breeding them for many years and only had one bad one that bit for no reason.
@brenboy13 It's rare to get bitten by a rat. Out of all the rats I have owned I never have been bitten. Even cared rats tend to not bite. Just give them a lot if time and attention. With new rats I hold them in my hoodie while on the computer.
lol, cool. Do Teddy and Charlie scent mark the levels in their cage a lot? Oreo and Cookie did it constantly... But that is part of wut they like to do:P
I don't even want to think about how much you must spend on CareFresh if that's all you use. *shudder* I (or... my parents, haha) spent loads on CareFresh when I had a guinea pig.
You could just use Aspen then put CareFresh on top.
I have the same cage as you do (with the purple and the green). How do you clean the shelves? My boys love to pee on them.
