  • i heard a fart at 1:17

  • This is shite.

  • I actually really like the music, but honestly, the video freaks me the fuck out, especially the random mouth opening and shutting near the end xD

  • If you like this, you might love RATATAT - search them on You tube...

  • @Kaskade2009 Ratatat are quite good but not as good as this IMO.

  • Amazing stuff

  • What the fuck am I listening to? Surely not music

  • @FlamSalad no. this is. gtfo

  • @FlamSalad Good question. Your normal taste in music obviously seems inadequate after sampling the delights of Matmos.

Unless I interpret you wrongly and you believe that YOU really have to RIGHT to JUDGE what MUSIC is? Seriously I've heard of ignoramus but that's beyond that, its Philistism.

Ive got an idea, why don't you scroll up to the search bar. Type in [name of popular artist here] and go back to your blissful ignorance of any culture movement of intergrety or importance. Have fun.

  • @nickshel This isn't about Philistinism, this is me checking out a particular artist and disliking it (embellished of course for the lolz) Wasted intellect ;)

  • @FlamSalad Ok fair enough. Next time you dislike an artist though I would appreciate it, especially if it's an artist I love, if you wouldn't challenge its qualification to be music. From your comment I thought you were one of those Heavy Grim Death Black Emo Metal fans who ended up on a good music video.

Everyone's entitled to opinions but please try to be less offensive. Peace.

  • @nickshel I'm not going to do that.

    Peace

  • i would shit myself watching this video on a bad mushroom trip

  • @devinstrumentals just did

  • I'm getting fat.

  • LOL, IDM both as an artform and a parody.

  • Anyone else start to hear "OH! Canada" in the middle?

  • Wow... just what I needed! Thanks! I must check out some more. :-)

  • very original

  • Hhmmm, interesting. Kinda funny too.

  • csodás

  • super excited about heading to moog fest this year...love this! carry on!

  • loving some of the sounds and ideas..but not sure how i feel about it as a song or something to listen too..I just saw there name and decided to check um out..ill have to look for more

  • is the light reading their movement and creating music? this would bee interesting

  • que musica tan especial creo es arte?? estare en lo cierto? gracias thom yorke!!!

  • really nice and special

  • sounds like mouse on mars or visa versa

  • DAMN!!! MATMOS KICK BUTTS!!!

  • sounds like they're remixing Oh Canada at one point

  • Maybe you can help me!

I'm looking for a song, I believe it is matmos. the "lyrics" in it is something like:

Fups da da, fups da da he ouhm! with more and more words making up the song. anyone knows which one I'm looking for??

  • @Karatemusen Lathouse maybe? :)

  • @FreakyBr0

Sorry, that's not it. It hasn't got drums and "regular" stuff. It's only tiny bits and pieces of voices and sounds cut together to make up a song. It may have been a demo, because I downloaded it from Kazaa (retro!) sometime in the nineties or early 2000-something..

    plz help

  • See you can tell when music's fresh by the comments and how they're mostly more than a sentence in English(I know it's getting harder and harder for them to remember their words!).

These kinds of songs are fresh vegetables, the kids can go ahead and have their frozen peas(DISGUSTING).

  • like waz ur problem wit kidz ZZLe4Ni? Aren't "fresh" things typically on the new side of old? Now I, for one, wouldn't have used that term to describe this music (it's kind of stuffy and reminds me of mothballs), but I agree with your sentiments about the music.

Kind of nice to have cross-generational fertilization of ideas. Mendel would approve. (Now there's a pea allusion!)

  • Haha.

  • wow, awesome

  • I read they record sounds from various surgical procedures... which is genius!

  • Sombody told me that electronic music genius could be splited into synthesis genius and sample genius... this guys have everything to be the sample genius of our days...

  • this is an imitation...nothing more..

  • oh jesus this is fun, ive been looking for anything that could rival Max Tundra's 'Ink me' and now ive found it

  • it's like the mario theme on acid i like it:)

  • no kidding!

  • @setamonkeytoy -no -they suck asshole

  • glorious glitch at its best. so organic

  • i feel like a robot

  • then you suck

  • niiiice :D

  • they are breathtaking

  • love this music wow

    chcikenhorse

  • I want to take this to bed.

  • They sound nothing like Kraftwerk or Throbbing Gristle

  • so what??

  • danielhl, you should've specify which of the four prior comments you were responding to.

But, if you were responding to NotHomeless, you're an idiot.

If they don't sound the same, people won't listen to them for the same reason.

People listen to different things depending on their mood and setting.

  • yeah!!!! i dont care if they dont sound like krafwerk or throbbing gristle!!!!! i like them anyway you know!!!!!

  • Uuh love THIS ! !

  • ABSOLUTE GENIUS!

I want to have Drew's love child.

    Ok, i guess M.C. Schmidt't too.

(And then i would breed them together, and we would have the PUREST MATMOS LOVE CHILD OF ALL!

We would call it "god" and we would adorn it with roses. The end.)

  • the new record is lovely. thanks guys :-*

  • sounds interesting but nothing I would pay 4

  • don't give up friend! Every Matmos album has something new to offer. My personal favorite is The Civil War where they utilize themes and instruments from the American and British civil wars to make their wonderful sound colllages.

  • sounds like art rock

  • what does that mean?

Don't let some critic's cliche fool you; that's just a stupid term people rely on so as not to actually allow music to challenge them. Listen to album, really, the music is intruiging, accesible and fascinating. Who knows? Maybe it aint' your thing, but it never hurts to try.

  • I like artrock, a high form of listening, more than just music etc...

  • Artrock?..

    The hell?

    Music IS art.

Anybody who says elsewise probably listens to crappy pop music that's been diluted with internet meme remixes by people who clearly don't even know what the mean with the only possible redeeming quality being that they sacrificed lyrics for beat.

Which, by the way, is BS.

  • Well i love pop music, im not sure what you mean when you say internet meme remixes, now this doesn't even sound like rock music, i'd say more a creative electronic maybe ambient, i don't remember i haven't heard the song in a while. But, yes i agree art-rocks a stupid term, But some may just write a catchy pop song on an acoustic guitar and it can be extremely enjoyable, it could have charm, it doesn't need to be "other worldly" and I'm sure there's value in that.

  • @repku totaly agreed , most of the music i listent to is original sounding lkethis

  • @repku but you gotta agree some music are what i like to call: artsy.

for example, in painting, realism is art. now, those paintings which are 3 verticals lines are artsy. Well, I don't know how to explain it.

  • Lovely. This Balloon is truly supreme.

  • right-on,..hope you had fun in Paris guys...cool new one

  • glorious.. see you in chicago!

  • I suppose this was electronic music's inevitable conclusion...

  • Not so much. Perhaps a reinvention?

  • Yikes. All of that using nothing but synthesizers?

  • pretty incredible
