I am not too keen on subs but the Akira subs explains the story better than the dubbed version and the emotions in the characters are better than the dubbed version. I still want to buy Akira on laserdisc

I decided to watch that a while ago on a whim after seeing a positive review about it and was both horrified and amazed by it. Truly a powerful film.

Sweet Monster did make the list^^ I rarely find peaple who actually seen it. Akira was an awesome movie. Most peaple say they don't like the english voices, but I think the english voices fitted the atmospere perfectly. When shit goes down it goes really down in that movie. That ending was insane. Death Note would have been one of my top anime if it wasn't for the death of L. After L died I sort of lost interest.

After this week I'll finally have time to start watching anime again!

I only watched Death Note and Monster (about 7 episodes of it). I loved Death note for the first act, was uninterested in the second, and loved the ending (so much tension). Everyone says monster is a good anime, but the pacing in the beginning is too slow for me. I still have it so I'm going to try to finish it eventually.

999 and akira was also in my backlog of animes to watch eventually; I should get started soon.

I'm probably one of the few people that didn't enjoy Death Note. Akira is still one of the best anime movies after all this time (along with Tokyo Godfathers, Steamboy, and most Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli films) and Monster is Probably my favorite anime at this particular moment.

I wonder if Galaxy Express 999 had the same artist that did Gun Frontier, they look very similar in some ways.

Death Note is a truly great anime, sadly when it hit 'mainstream' America, it of course fueled the loser emos to an all new level. Remember when goths were legit goths, not just hyper girls that wear black?

wow i've only seen 3 on this list. loved galaxy 999 deathnote was also great at least until the second half. they should of ended it after you know who died. L was one of the most weird but awesome characters in an anime i've seen since edward from cowboybebop

Yay, Monster made the list (one of my personal top 10 favorite anime as well), aside from a select few like Eva & Lunge, I can't really say I hate any of the characters, I've liked them all equally so far.

I'll also have to watch Green Legend Ran, it's seems vaguely similar to Now & Then, Here & There.
