  • I went with my mother to the Miriam Makeba Tribute, made by the African Mamas in the Netherlands, It was very nice to see. Everybody was dancing, singing and having a lot african fun.

  • What an incredible video this is! I had no idea that Ms. Makeba had passed away late last year. Now, grab the CD Belafonte Returns To Carnige Hall and listen to Ms. Makeba's performance of this song. It is wonderfull. Thank you for this wonderfull video! :)

  • I just learned recently of her passing.Now I am sad again. Mama Africa also inspired me. Though I have never visited any part of Africa including South Azania. I still feel a connection to my Mother Land. Mama Africa made it special. I remember watching "SARAFINA" and one of the young actresses probably the one that played Sarafina burst into tears when Miriam Makeba came back to see her. That put a lump in my throat.
