I went with my mother to the Miriam Makeba Tribute, made by the African Mamas in the Netherlands, It was very nice to see. Everybody was dancing, singing and having a lot african fun.
One of the most songs of a little girl (45 years ago, when I was five) and still today. Yet, I didn't go hunting for it until it dawned on me that someone of You Tube mght have it. Thanks johnxxx20000 and thanks you You Tube!
What an incredible video this is! I had no idea that Ms. Makeba had passed away late last year. Now, grab the CD Belafonte Returns To Carnige Hall and listen to Ms. Makeba's performance of this song. It is wonderfull. Thank you for this wonderfull video! :)
I just learned recently of her passing. Now I am sad again. Mama Africa also inspired me. Though I have never visited any part of Africa including South Azania. I still feel a connection to my Mother Land. Mama Africa made it special. I remember watching "SARAFINA" and one of the young actresses probably the one that played Sarafina burst into tears when Miriam Makeba came back to see her. That put a lump in my throat.
Si wor während engem Concert zu Caserte am Süde vun Italien zesumme mat anere Sänger fir de Schrëftsteller Roberto Saviano opgetrueden, dee jo wéinst engem Buch Gomorra, vun der italienescher Mafia mam Doud menacéiert gëtt.
DMiriam Makeba hat eng hallef Stonn laang gesongen. Dono ass et hir schlecht ginn an si gouf direkt an eng Klinik bruet.
:d It's the same for me, my mother used to listen to that music and then I heard it again in Camden Town in London. I felt like being little again and asked for the name of the artist ...

Mi prostro ai tuoi piedi, quale segno di profonda gratitudine per aver dato dignità e onore all'Essere Umano.
