All the same mechanics do apply in the sequel, but unfortunately it's widely-held by Hunter aficionados that the map designs in the L4D2 official campaigns ignore Hunters.

The survivors are often indoors, or are sheltered from air attacks with awnings etc.

Even some of the rare open spaces have been blocked off with invisible walls - like the highway overpass overlooking the narrow alley just before the CEDA Checkpoint Truck gauntlet run in The Parish Part 2.

heres a tip for people who like playing hunter but r bad at playing with them

dont pounce a survivor when his teammates r very close to him.

pounce lone survivors.

try pouncing from heights it will do more damage.

pounce when they r standing back to back youll get killed but theyll be weakend and be broken up.

and when you have the chance pounce a falling survivor you wont get the 25 damage but the damage they get from the fall.

One question I have is, usually, when a Hunter pounces a Survivor and the other Survivors are nearby, its not worth it because the other Survivors will kill you before you can do much damage.

If your doing these huge leaps (you have mad skill btw), how much damage are you going to do to to a survivor on versus mode? Is it worth dying for?

Start single player, open your developers console. copy and paste this in it bind "j" "director_force_versus_start;m­p_gamemode versus;director_no_death_check 1;jointeam 3;wait 50;nb_delete_all;z_spawn hunter" You can change j to whatever free key you like. Before the bind works you must also open console and turn on cheats by typing sv_cheats 1. Than when you push j, youre infected. Unfortunately you dont play bots, but its handy to practice hunter

@terilM2 i know this is a late comment but ill help you out. i have a bad pc so im stuck with the xbox version. to scale walls on xbox is a little hard. jump at a wall holding your left analog (depending which way but we'll just say left) towards the wall. heres the tricky part, while holding the analog against the wall look slightly away jump the look back at the wall again and you will start doing it, then repeat. (its annoying, sorry if these are not the best instructions lol)

holy shit that was intense. its a shame L4D2 doesnt give ANYONE the hunter anymore. freakin chargers or spitters. hunters have the potential for the most damage in a single hit other than a tank. i wonder if you can control your flight in mid air on the 360 too. ive tried but when i try to move the hunte, i end up clicking the crouch button and not being able to immediately run away if i miss, which i do. a LOT.

Scaling can also be done with just holding strafe in the direction of a wall and using mouse look. This method doesn't lose airtime.

First of all, how much hp did you have left? if red or sth yes he could possibly kill you, and if not, then its a modded server that acts real =) and infact its registered 25 but the truth is, u can make more dmg than 25....
