I gotta ask, I know valhalla is where the warriors go when they die if they die in battle I think valkry has something to do with recruiting them for the ragnarok. But what is. Explain Asgard and Midgard they are both cities right? can anyone explain the lore? I know the ragnarok is caused by loki being freed and there is some kind of ice giant that wants revenge.  And odin sits atop a tree called the yggdrasil, but still a little amateur at the lore.

@Crazymagus13 Yggdrasil is the tree that connects Asgard and Midgard, I think. Ragnarok is the apocalypse. The Valkyrie collects the souls of fallen warriors and brings them to Valhalla to become Einherjars who would fight when Ragnarok comes. Odin is the leader of the gods in Asgard, pretty much like Mt. Olympus and Heaven while Midgard is Earth.

The Vanir are the "other" gods, though the exact nature of that otherness has been the subject of much debate. This might be rather complex,it will depend on your knowledge.

It is believed,that the germanic culture originated in late bronze age northern Germany,from the mix of Hallstatt culture celts with the corded ware indo iranians and native europeans/mesolithic europeans,indo europeanized to a unknown extent,by the indo iranian corded ware culture,resuming its a mix of 3 cultures.
