3 problems the one that really is annoying, you torch is tutting you clam, you have way too many fish and so men of your fish should not be in that tank.
Nice tank. So do you plan on keeping fish that get over a foot and require hundreds of gallons inside that tiny thing? Nicely put together but i would do some research on the fish you are interested in before you buy them.
dude, thats an awesome reef tank you have am about to have my own in a couple of months as a bday present, and would appreciate your help and advices on how to keep a biocube reef tank as awesome as yours.
This is beautiful! I am just getting started with my own coral collection in a biocube. Could you share with me your recommendations for how to attach various corals to the live rock? Thanks.
Great-looking tank, man ! Did you modify the lighting at all, or is this the Biocube's stock lighting? I find it amazing that people are able to grow such vibrant, healthy corals (some pretty delicate species, too!) with the stock lights that come with the Biocube.
I love cube tanks, and will be picking up the 29g Oceanic soon!
Awesome tank! I got a quick question though. I have a 26Gallon, and my temperately is about 82 degrees and I cant get it lower. Do you know of any cheap chillers?
I have a snowflake eel in mine right now, could I add a Clownfish? I am either upgrading to a 55 in december or getting a secondary 14 gallon in december for my clownfish and some reefs
How much did you spent on your tank? I was planning to start a 29 gallon tank. Well i had a 12 gallon but i am leaving that one as is. I spent over 900 dollar that one with of course novice mistakes.
I have a biocube 29 too but i am not very successful with it though. I set it up a year now but my water is still not good. If you could tell me what are your equipments and medications that you use? My biocube was "ok" until 3 weeks ago.. my blue tang died. thats when everything stared to fall apart. My nitrate is extremely high. i did water change, and ... NOTHING survived.
@jayboogy510 I can't keep it stable. The water evaporate really fast so salinity change from 1.024-1.025. pH and dKH change day by day. Can't keep them stable. Nitrate is crazy high.
@jayboogy510 I think the reason for evaporation is the fan i have. Nitrate was at 40-60 ppm. but i changed the water and i have less fish now so its at 20ppm. i have a wood airstone skimmer. the second chamber in the back of the biocube become a sump. I put live rock and chaeto in there with light. I have the skimmer in the first chamber.
@koaihet31 it could be the water you are using. What type of water are you using? I would suggest start a new cycle using new water but take out the live rock and keep in another set of salt water. Is best for you tank to mature before stocking up stuff on it. Well it been 4 months and week for me on a 12 gallon fish tank and i have one fire goby, oen percula clown fish, 2 peppermint shrimp, and one slunk cleaner. Using water buffs can been causing the problem too or crushed corals. Sand is best
@koaihet31 Yes they are. There healthy and getting big, eating all the food and pooping all over the place. I've only lost one fish since I set this tank up. I purchased a 90 gallon a while back. I had to get the right equipment so it took me a while to save up for, but I almost of all the stuff. I should have it up and running soon. Going all LED's and 2 T5's for actinics so stay tunned... I'm selling this tank if anybody is interested, spent $650 on just the lights, I live in the Bay Area, CA.

how long have you had your mandarin and has it had any problems?
RyanXyz007 7 months ago
Blue tangs should have 180 gallon 7+ footer tanks MINIMUM. And sailfin tangs need at least 6 feet. Unless of course you like ich/stunted fish.

@koaihet31 Sorry to hear that. Really your tank was overstocked. What kind of filteration do you have? Are you keeping your water parameters stable?

@koaihet31 do you have bioballs in the back? if so get rid of them and instead put live rock... the bioballs are nitrate factories

@hobaby316 i don't have bio balls in the 2nd chamber. i got rid of them. Thanks

@koaihet31 Wow, blue tangs need a min of 100 Gallons, you clearly need to read more about reef aquariums.
