I have a 2004 black mach 1 mustang. I would like to install the mac off road h pipe, but i'am concern about the check engine light.When u installed yours, was that a problem. By the way your car sounds bad ass.My son and i have a 1978 ford 100 with a ford crate 5.0 engine with a e-cam check the video.Go to f100 burnout part 1 part 2 green f100 thanks Sam.

@con170469 Yes the check engine light will definitely come on but its an easy fix. U can do one of 2 things. U can buy MIL eliminators which usually cost about 50$ a set which just plug into the rear 02 sensor in between the harness and the sensors, which is what i recommend or you can buy a tuner of some type they all have an option to turn off rear 02 sensors. Both options should still pass a SMOG test unless they're real picky and do a visual inspection after cranking it up. Hope this helps.

@speedspeedspeed1 when it says OFF ROAD ONLY is it ok on LOCAL And on freeways ?? why does it say off road onlY ?? for ex, the summith hpipe says off pipe i wanted this for my 08 mustang gt

@hohohee1 Off road means its not meant for legal driving on the street. Technically speaking you can get a ticket it for it I suppose. I've had them on many cars over the years and never got even pulled over for it. If you live in a big city and have to do emissions the car will not pass visual or computer inspection without modification or using MIL' Eliminators.... but even then won't pass visual inspection

damn that sounds amazing....I am trying the decide between the SSS terminator, or the flowmasters 40 series. I like the straight through SSS, but I love the sound of the flowmasters.

40 through 48 is pure sex. h pipe and 40's is the only way to do it. dohc has the most perfect sound.

this is the same set up on the cobra aint it? lol have yall ran? cobra vs mach? i think it'd be a good race since their essientially the same motor although i think they have diff heads and cams and intake. i hate my SLP's, im switching to this

Yeah Its the same setup. The mach 1 beat the cobra hands down. It feels like a completely differen't motor (before and after mods). Mach uses lincoln navi Cams, and 03 cobra heads and i believe 01 cobra intake. which make all the difference in sound and seat of the pants feel in performance. I guess the 3.55 gears and Tr3650 Tranny (steeper gears) in the mach might have something to do with it... I'd definitely ditch the SLP though. You'll love flowmasters (get the originals! not delta flows)

You will man... my first car was a v6 mustang at 17 ran a 16.5 in it at 19 i got my self a 02 mach 1 pulled a 13.2 ahaha big difference!! i was scared to punch it first week i had it.

believe it or not I've heard comments from people saying flowmasters don't belong on 4.6s??? ok....that is a rediculous statement. listen at this car! anyone who doesn't think it sounds good doesn't like musclecars...either that or they are a MAJOR hater on mustangs.

Couldn't Agree with you more... I think some people refer to the 4.6L 3v Gt's in the new S197 mustangs with after axle (ricer style) mufflers.... I haven't heard very many of those that sounded good... but Any Mustang from the 1960's until 2004 with pre-axle Flows is the shit... (its hard to beat the ole 5.0L pushrod motors though ;))

this is an awesome setup. I had a 97 cobra set up the same way....previous owner before me put the mufflers on not long after he bought the car new in like 97-98? I bought the car in 04 and by this time they were really broken in as you might know and it sounded incredible I wish I had a sound clip of it but I don't...it's totaled now unfortunately. it sounded just like this one but with more backfires after revving....probably cuz the baffles were eat out more...it was bad ass, two thumbsup

Your exhaust sounds great! Do you get that smell inside the car from the exhaust? Cause my brother had an o/r x and it smelled inside the car whenever it was idling.

No its not a prochamber. Thats closer to an X. What I have is a standard H pipe... Standard off-road H pipe by Mac. Jet hot coated aluminized steel.

Personally I give it a 7 out of 10 as far as loudness goes all across the boards except at WOT its a 11 out of 10. If your squeamish, don't get this exhaust, stick with borla or something.

You sound like me then. Cruising, theres nothing better than Flowmasters... They droan and hold the tone throughout the powerband and always scream on command and never rust out or fail... IMO, its the only muffler besides mac flowpath or spintech... that will ever find its way on my car. Thats just my opinion tho. Its got a really good tone. And Sounds good under load and at idle and revving... can't go wrong with that...

you said you put slant cut tips on yours and they sounded bad. you think the stock slant cut tips on GT's would make this sound bad?

Honestly I'm not sure why it sounded so bad in my opinion. I had the muffler guy run them out a few inches but that shouldn't have made that much difference. He said it was the difference in the material, the thickness, and diameter. The stock mach tips had multiple layers and is stainless steel. The aftermarkets were really thin 1 layer stainless and 3 1/2". This is a big mystery to me. No I think the GT's Sound different anyway because of the 2v. (better most times IMO). I think you'd be fine
