  • I never heard this joint before. Im sittin here listening to it. The beat is mad familiar. Then i realized. This is the beat from a Pebbles joint called Stay With Me. Its from her c.d Always.

  • Some people just don't know when to shut up, and this is for everyone. J Dilla "used" to produce beats for Tribe, so for those who have other theories, you're sadly mistaken. So shut up...............and just enjoy the song, lol

  • My shit I love swv

  • This is Consequence. Like dumbass, listen to the voice lol

  • I always thought AZ did this song.. lol

  • EARGASM

  • @andresquared this song is from 1996. this track was never put on their Beats, Rhymes and Life LP, released later that year.

  • its not next and next song wifey don't have this beat or words like that ... and its coko

  • i was looking for this song for yrs!!!

  • This song completely describes my outlook on love an relationships!

  • The beat sounds like something that should have been given to AZ!

  • Absolutely!

  • agree mang...AZ would flow so smooth on this track...

  • @reinegade someone send him this shit LOL

  • truth. i'm ihaaa88, earlier i thought that was Next, so that's why i said that was 2000. But that song it's on ATCQ "The Lost Demo's" and it said that is SWV on the featuring.

  • Wasnt this unreleased?

  • YEAh I BELIEVE

  • It is Consequence!

  • Great Song! you won't find a production like this nowadays. Thanks for posting. This was bounce music, everybody laughed in the club, no haters, just dancing and baggin' shakin ass..ufff

  • This is only Coko I remember a when they interviewed her. But SWV did not fully break up in 1998 they recored ''Mystery'' in 1999-2000.

  • This is not Next! Next was an R&B group with three singers, not a rap group. As far as the chorus, it is only Coko singing all parts.

  • Hardly god open your ears!!! Thats Taj singing da low note in the chorus

  • How in the hell is it gonna be Taj when this song was recorded in in 2000. SWV had been broke up and wasn't even talking to each other like that. Coko was a solo artist then seen on Motown Live, Live from L.A. etc.... Really Coko is the only one I hear on this song!!!

  • Den why da fuck is it feat.SWV and not Coko? I dont remember SWV consisting of just Coko

  • I guess the owner of this video thought it was SWV or got the info somewhere else. If you want Coko has a myspace you could ask her she always wrote me back!! But like everyone else all I hear is COKO!!!

  • Alot of other people say its Consequence too so that might be a battle about this!! But what year was this recorded??? To me it just sounds like COKO I don't know if Lelee or Taj sang on here.

  • it was recorded in 2000.

  • Well it wasn't SWV then they broke up in 1998!!! Coko went Solo in 1999 and had her R&B hit "Sunshine" So song "Wifey" is just COKO singing!!!

  • no prob:)

  • I love this song! but it's actually Next, not ATCQ. this song is from their "Welcome II Nextasy" album.

  • @ihaaa88 you actually have it wrong. Next does have a song named " Wifey", true, but the full name of this ATCQ song is called " Wifey Material", if you type in ATCQ Wifey Material, it will show up as an instrumental.

  • @GMANKOOL23 This Is Not ATCQ This IS CONSEQUENCE. Nobody From TRIBE Made This Beat. J Dilla Made This Beat Bro..... CONSEQUENCE Is Q-TIPs Cousin So I Could See How You Got Mixed Up...

  • @ezearl Yo, did you forget that most of the songs on tribe's earlier albums just had Q-TIP rapping by himself. Everybody had a track for themselves, so when you make that statement it's "null & void". Also, Consequence became a member of A Tribe Called Quest in 1996 on the " Beats,Rhymes & Life" album, so he probably got a chance to do a song by himself.(Even though this track was never released). Another fact, JayDee began producing for/with the Tribe in 1995/96 as part of "The Ummah"

  • @ezearl Consequence was a stand-in member of Tribe during the recording of Beats, Rhymes and Life, Son.
