It's an ideal, but it's the kind of alternative to banking that is almost outlawed in America. There are a lot of banking models that are so much better than fractional reserve banking out there, but are suppressed by the Federal Reserve. You are kind of screwed by almost owning your own home, they will go after people with assets. If you are like me, no home or car, you could default on your debt & they will still harass you but they couldn't do much because you have nothing that they can take

Wow, this is what i'd read in the book 'Assault on Reason' by Al Gore. He outlines this very situation, this lack of passion, while people continue living their mundane rat race lives without politically questioning any imposition on their freedom or lives. I truly hope the situation improves...

problem is they didn't get rich by helping people.....if you have lots of money, chances are it came from someone who couldn't afford to lose it.

They sure could and should. It would be VERY profitable for them (the rich) for we the poor and needy, and at the same time be telling the Banks FUCK YOU but will it happen? My inner sanctum says NO as this is a world of the greedy and self centered.
