I use to watch this program on shop at home religious, and I couldn't understand why?! It was such a scam, and Don West was the biggest BSer in the world!! Especially when that a-hole Kenny called, but I was a huge card collector so it just was irresistible, but too big time rip off, looking back now obviously with the hobby going down the toilet
Hey thanks for recording these. These seem to be "newer" in that I remember when the set was really low grade with a drab background and the table they showed the sets on had green felt on them. Do you remember that or have video of that?
hahaha thats funny looking back......these sets from the late 80's and early 90's are flat out WORTHLESS now. You literally cannot give them away lol.
Wait a minute was that 13,000 cards, or 13 thousand cards. Or was it thirteen thousand cards, or Thirteen 1,000 cards. I mean I wanna make certain I get it right before placing an order. I have to say Don West was a trip and I miss those late nights when I couldn't sleep listening to his voice blasting over the TV trying to sell any would be collector something that was produced in millions of quantity and making like it was the last one ever available. Good showman! ~Peace and God Bless
man the bottom has fell out on baseball cards. in the 80s an early 90s cards were still worth collectin, but when the internet come along and it was easier to buy what cards u needed and pretty cheap also it took all the fun out of collectin to trade and buy packs to get the cards that were rare or ones u really wanted. i always wanted the 89 upperdeck griffey rc. that was the one for me that was so damn hard. that and the0 frank thomas leaf rc i believe and the first year topps stadium club hit
baseball card collecting was dead way before the internet came around. In fact, it was dead in the mid-90's. I would say 1992 was the year it started to really tail off, although 1989 was probably the real beginning thanks to Upper Deck artificially flooding the market. By 1994 (the year of the baseball strike which also played a major role in the death of baseball cards) the whole thing had gone belly up.
Factory sets from the late 80's/early 90's are worthless. They're nothing but piece of shit commons with a few names thrown in there. All of these cards put together are maybe worth about 40 bucks tops.
this is the problem with this deal. the sets have no value because there are the worst years. there are only 1 or 2 cards in each set worth anything, and nothing to justify this price. if you broke up every set and sold the best cards on ebay, you would maybe make back 10 bucks out of the 200 you spent.
Don was just a sick sick sales man.2000 i was living with my sister and she didnt have cable but still being night owl i didnt know what to do until i turned on tv one night and heard don screaming at 4 o clock inthe mourning...And i oved the dude who would call up on the phone and get hyped up as well...he was good damn good but don was the man.
I am trying to think of some way to repay you for uploading this, but nothing I can imagine comes close to satisfying the debt I owe you. This was the greatest late night show of all time.
CAL RIPKEN JR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A total pro. At 2:20 he begins to introduce the 1991 Fleer when all of the sudden the boxes start to fall disrupting his introduction. He makes sure the wall of cards does not fall, and a full 13 seconds after he began his introduction for the 1991 Fleer, he finishes it with a flawless "Factory Set." What concentration.
The US stock market and mortgage markets faced speculative collapses--just like baseball card collecting in the 1980's. I am glad I learned my lesson with baseball cards as a boy rather than losing my life savings in the fake stock market and real estate markets of today.
I remember watching Monday Night Raw on the USA Network and about 2 or 3 in the morning I would wake up and this crazy guy screaming. I loved it...Don West I miss you on Shop at Home...TNA is awesome though
Homer Simpson: "Mmmmmm, baseball cards. Must buy baseball cards. Only $200? A bargain! Marge won't mind. It's an investment 'cause they'll be worth like a gazillion dollars in a few years. Woo hooo! Bart! Get your old man another Duff outta the fridge, will ya , boy?"
haha I use to watch these guys as a kid and I wasn't even into the cards or sports, these guys were just so hilarious and awesome that it was worth watching.
And for the record...Don needed to fire that other guy. He's a tool. Don just needs that guy to shut up and keep stacking all the FACTORY SETS! WAHOO!
HOLY SHIT this is funny... Try watching this after smoking a fat blunt and it's the funniest shit you ever will hear... INsanely Funny Shit... FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACTory SEEEEEEEEEt....
